I make mixed media landscape paintings in both traditional and digital media.
My problem is that I have grown to actually prefer my digital paintings, which I draw on my ipad software. They have a glow and creaminess that I can't achieve with traditional paint. Since part of my monthly income comes from my creative work I am keen to hear opinions about preferences.
My digital works sell at lower price points but can be sold in quantity, yet I rarely see digital landscape art on the market. I am wondering if this will put me at a disadvantage?
I am currently working with a couple of companies who distribute them for me, but can't decide which to focus on full time. I have a feeling that 'fine art' landscapes would attract a market that was less likely to want digital editions. I am happy to go either way, and do enjoy my traditional work, but it would help me to focus on one or the other since it is attached to my income.
Everyone has wildly varied and very subjective opinions about what constitutes good art, so you may very well think mine is crap! I will post two examples of my digital paintings here to give an idea of my style. So basically, if you saw these online, would you be disappointed that they were digital? I don't mind the answer, it will inform me either way.
