Daughter unwell for 2 weeks

Please could I have some advice on the best action.

My daughter (13) had d&v a couple of weeks ago. That cleared up after a few days and has left her with a sore stomach and throat.

She has said she's still doing small runny poops, and she's constantly telling me sick is coming up and going back down and it's hurting her.

I spoke to the dr as she was not eating or drinking a lot, the dr suggested Gaviscon, and dioralite. She wont ndrink the drink and the gaviscon is too gross for her.

Apart from getting her tums tablets today, is there anything else I can do for her? She's absolutely fine in herself, having a laugh with me and being herself. Her appetite has returned but she's still bringing up acid (reflux).

Is there something I am missing? She wants me to call the dr Tuesday, but I'm reluctant for her to a)have another day off school as she's had 2 weeks, and b) waste the drs time.

Any advice appreciated!

Did they ask for a poo sample?
And she needs to find something for reflux that she will tolerate.

Unless there is an underlying reason then she needs to take the medicines which have been given to her. We all dislike the taste of things that are prescribed and hate having mammograms and smear tests but we do it because it’s worth it in the end.
Gaviscon chewable tablets just taste minty/chalky.

The missing thing is she has to have the medicine, Even if it tastes gross she has to have it, that is realistically what the doctor will say before moving onto other tests or possibilities.

Thank you, that's what I needed to hear. I don't want to be too soft, but didn't want to be too harsh! It's a mine field isn't it.
