Can I get polarised non-sunglasses?

I have to sit in a room with spotlights a lot.
I hate spotlights because of the glare.
I also have a problem with light coming from more than one source, eg a window and a lamp, and so I try to sit squarely beneath 1 spotlight rather than an overlap.
I don't want to wear sunglasses in the room but I wonder if polarised glasses would help with the busy-ness and glare.
For the record to avoid drip feed I wear distance glasses for driving and should also have reading glasses. I have an astigmatism. I tried varifocals but didn't get on with them, although I might have to try them again else how to see both...?
I have tried online searches but cannot find any mention of polarising without tint.
Hoping for some mumsnet wisdom.

You can get anti glare coating on normal
glasses

Yes, I always get the antiglare coating, but does it do the same job?

As I understand it polarising light means letting through all the vertical light and none of the horizontal light (or vice versa), and gradated in between. I remember as a child holding 2 polaroid lenses and as I turned one the light gradually disappeared to nothing and back again.

The idea is that might reduce the "noise" of multiple light sources and make my brain behave like they are one light source.

Another question (or is it the same one?) do dark polaroid sunglasses polarise more/better than lighter sunglasses?
