Announcing pregnancy after 11+3 scan? Or do we need to wait the 4 days to 12?

As title suggests, not sure if it’s more advisable we wait the full twelve weeks or if it’s okay to announce having had a scan at 11+3? What are your thoughts?

You can announce it when you want, whether that’s as soon as you get a positive test, or twenty weeks down the line.

In the past, it was after twelve weeks as that’s when the highest risk of miscarriage had past.

@Cantthinkofadifferentname I think you're quoting the wrong person. I said precisely that it was up to the individual when to tell people.

Assuming the scan is your official dating scan (and you've just been scheduled to have it before you are actually 12 weeks) then yes I'd go ahead and announce. You've just had your 12 week scan early is all.

You may even find your EDD changes after this scan anyway.

I told people earlier than 12 weeks in previous pregnancies but I had a loss at 20 weeks last year so won't be telling anyone until 24 weeks upwards this time. Currently 16 weeks pregnant.
