Has anyone done this offer, do they run throughout year or only one offs?

also any thoughts on David Lloyd clubs in general?

thanks

Doesn't sound like you'll get a true experience of what a DL club is like during the trial: https://archive.ph/s27k7

My thoughts - they are really very expensive so unless you have a lot of disposable income, or are planning to practically live there, you will always be disappointed...

They run the offers periodically, but I don’t think there’s any particular rhythm to when they do or when you could expect the next one to be. Whether membership is value for money depends on how often you realistically see yourself going. I’ve had a David Lloyd membership in the past and yes, it is expensive, but I was there almost daily and made use of almost all the facilities. If you’ve never really used a gym before, I’d recommend joining a budget gym initially for a couple of months and seeing how good you are at actually motivating yourself to go several times a week before signing up for something more pricey.

I now have a Third Space membership which is even pricier, but I find their facilities are better than DL.

There seem to be a couple of offers like that a year from what I've noticed. Certainly haven't seen any trouble at the gym whilst they are running, bar the car park being a bit trickier.
I enjoy going there. I've found I go more regularly than I have at previous gyms, probably because I'm not working so have the time. Also because they have the kids classes so as can put the kids in while I exercise.
The cafe always seems very popular and people seem to socialise quite a bit there, less so me as I'm a bit of an antisocial fucker but it's good for chilling in while the kids muck around on the mini soft play. The outdoor pool is lovely in summer so I'm waiting with bated breath for the good weather. I really like the classes, I'm less interested in the actual gym bit as I get too bored doing it. It is pretty pricey, especially with the kids added in and with swimming lessons for them added on top. We get it through salary sacrifice though so that helps.

They are worth it if you are going to use the tennis courts or have few other options near you.

If you don’t play tennis, they are overpriced. In addition, they like to charge like a luxury club, but the service is more like a cheap club. I still resent having to pay an additional membership fee to get free towels.

It used to be the 14 day offer ran for people who had never had a trial or used club before during part of April and part of December.

I go to one purely because I live practically next door to one and it would be a further 5 miles to any other gym. It's a constant source of disappointment and if I lived near a PureGym or any other gym I would go there. Limited timetable and a very poor gym from an equipment pov. Dirty and falling apart. But I guess they're not all the same, some of them seem to have much better facilities. Sadly the price does not reflect the facilities as it's all about supply and demand. I pay twice as much as members at some other DLs which have much better equipment and classes.

I have been a member of DLL for 20+ years.
Yes it is expensive (especially for the amount I use it) but the pool and spa and changing facilities are so much nicer than our local pool...
