Best/least irritating bikini line hair removal method

I really struggle with this, anything I try results in raised red itchy bumps, ingrown hairs etc. Tbf I have never really persevered too much.

All I want to do is bikini line plus a bit.

What aftercare should I do (probably been lacking in this before)

IPL. I highly recommend the Braun Pro 5. Its been really effective.

I just use hair removal cream liberally

If you can afford to get it lasered off, it is fantastic.

Second ipl. I use the Philips lumea and it has been life changing. No more having to shave regularly. Can go swimming or wear a skirt without any second thoughts. For someone who is very hairy with dark hair (southern Mediterranean complexion) it has been amazing. Also great for underarms and the hair on my face eeekkk

I'd love to try the ipl but can't justify the cost atm.

Get it waxed at a salon. Slight skin irritation for about the first 24hrs if that and then that's it til next time.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 04/05/2024 16:22

I'd be open to waxing but no idea where to start finding a decent place, I live rurally with only small towns anywhere near.

What's ipl?

I'd ask people you know locally but if that's no good then have a look on Treatwell

Hair removal cream followed by LOTS of sudacrem. Keep the sudacrem up for about 24h and you won't get ingrown hairs.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 04/05/2024 16:46

I'll try the cream in the first instance, veet or something else?

Just vest it off. Won't be pretty.

What's ipl?

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. Really effective for hair removal on the body.

alicelauraa · 04/05/2024 19:13

I used WooWoo hair removal cream, it's the only one I would use now! You can get it from Superdrug or online, possibly elsewhere but I usually use Superdrug.

FeelinSpendy · 04/05/2024 19:47

I used to use hair removal cream and then sugaring (similar to waxing) but now have. Philips Lumea and it’s life-changing.
I started off using regularly as directed a year or so ago and now only have to use every so often as the hair just doesn’t grow in most areas. It’s made such a difference as everything used to cause me ingrown hairs, rashes or irritation and I don’t get any of that anymore. I know it’s expensive but you may be able to get one on offer or for sale second-hand.

Letsgotitans · 04/05/2024 19:57

As soon as you can afford at home ipl then get one, definitely worth saving up for. My bikini line used to look awful with red bumps and now is silky smooth!

angelcake20 · 29/01/2025 01:08

Another Lumea fan here.
