What am I forgetting for a rental flat?

I’m moving house in about two weeks, and starting a new job in 18 days. House confirmed yesterday, job today.

It’s from Scotland to England.

So far I’ve -

Given my new address to my emoloyer
Confirmed things with them
Given my new address to family and friends

I’ve also set up tenants insurance as per letting agent’s advice, and have taken out broadband, telephone and sky package.

I’m trying to think of people I need to contact and things I need to do. Of the top of my head I still need to tell:

DWP
Student loans company
My bank
My current GP
My current letting agent (aware but don’t know the date)

I need to confirm a removal van (again, also got a tentative date arranged with them).

Should I also try to set up gas and electric? Do I just phone a company? I’ve never done this before, I’ve always house shared so this is all totally new to me!!

Packing and shopping is a whole other problem…

New address for driving licence when you’ve moved and passport.
Car insurance
Council tax

Gas and electric... there will already by a supply, you need to confirm meter readings when you move in. Then decide if you arecstaying with the existing company or moving.
Same with water.

Council tax.
Car... log book, insurance, driving license.

Set up post redirect.

Bank.

And stuff like amazon... change billing address and delete your old delivery address as an option!

Oh God yes I forgot about Amazon! I’ve just rang British Gas and been told the house is being supplied by EDF right now, so now on hold to EDF to find out what sort of meter that is. I feel daft not just knowing these things but I’ve never set up home by myself before, it’s a massive shock how fast it’s going.

Arrange to redirect your post.

If you have a car register it and insurance at new address. Add yourself to electoral roll. Council tax. Dentist.

Be aware broadband might take a while to set up,last time I moved it took about 10 days.So maybe get a single if you need internet.
