I suffer from sciatica due to a herniated disc and I'm in so much pain at the moment, the doctor wants to try me on amytryptyline but I'm worried as I don't want to be knocked out of an evening, I have to babies under 2 to look after so need to be able to wake up easily !
I'm considering trying edibles, what are they like ?
I've smoked it before when younger but don't want to smoke now hence considering trying the edibles.

So rather than take a properly prescribed (and very well researched) medication where the side effects are highly predictable and which fade quickly with regular use of it in appropriate ways, you'd prefer to take a wholly unknown substance manufactured who knows where, potentially bring illegally imported to the UK then sold to you and you haven't the faintest idea what chemicals are in the fake gummies? Whilst in charge of your kids?

Huge swathes of so called cannabis gummies actually contain synthetic cannabinoids, which are Spice by another name. The chemical compounds are frequently illegal under UK laws.

Dosing is impossible to quantify outside a laboratory.

Speak to your GP about dose titration of amitryptiline, not take random drugs bought on the Internet.

Cannabis Edibles Are Not as Safe as People Think

Overconsumption of cannabis can happen more easily when it's used in edible form and it can have adverse affects on a person's health, especially youths and older adults.

Sorry @chronicpaineveryday but @CornishPorsche is right. The stuff you get in the UK is brutal and can contain anything. It's an unknown quantity. Someone might get on well with some decent THC edibles, but it's unlikely that you'll get decent ones. If you lived somewhere it was legal (or at least decriminalised) things would be different.

You could try some CBD alongside a low dose of the prescription meds and see how you go? I'm using CBD edibles for other reasons and getting on well with them. CBD gives you a lot of the benefits without any of the mood altering effects.

I think the advice is don't use drugs while you're looking after your kids, which seems like quite good advice to me.
