36 hours in Belfast, what shall I do?

I've slightly unexpectedly ended up with about 1.5 days in Belfast, late morning - late afternoon in a couple of weeks. Is there anything in particular that I should do/see? I'll be with my friend, early 40's, fit & well, interested in culture, history, nice food. Any suggestions?

Titanic museum? I haven't been but I am told it is well worth seeing.

If lucky enough to get good weather then the coastal path between Holywood & Bangor is a gorgeous walk with some lovely restaurants/bars dotted along it. A favourite of ours on a nice summer evening - Cultra Inn/Culloden Hotel, The Dirty Duck & Jamaica Inn are great for a meal with lovely views

If interested in seeing the Giant’s Causeway then the Bushmills Distillery tour is a great and really interesting stop on the way

The Titanic museum is definitely worth a visit. I'd follow it up with a late lunch or a drink in Drawing Room number 2 at the Titanic Hotel across the street. The food is excellent.

The Ulster museum/Botanical Gardens are good for a wander.

If the weather is nice the Folk museum is good for a wander. Titanic for less good days.

Black cab tour to get history behind the troubles

Wow that was quick, thank you, I'm hugely interested in Titanic so that's definitely on my list! I didn't know about the other suggestions though, sounds great!

The Ulster museum is great and situated in the gorgeous Botanic Gardens.😍

There are loads of great restaurants centrally ranging in price. La Taqueria does amazing Mexican food and depending on when you're eating does a main, a side/starter and a margarita for £20.

2 Royal Avenue is a wee oasis in the city centre. The building is beautiful, the toilets are clean and you can have a lovely sit down inside without it costing anything.

My top places in Belfast would be Crumlin Road Jail, Titanic Museum, Black Taxi tour, Ulster Meseum.

buckeejit · 30/04/2024 16:37

#team mauds - Pooh bear, (will never be poor bear in this house!!🤣)

There's a nice whisky shop in Belfast too if you've anyone to buy for / friend at hand.

Sometimes the mac has good exhibitions & the grand opera house may have a show. The Ulster museum & botanic gardens next door are good.

Mauds is the best Ice cream. There's one within walking distance of my house. It's not good on the waistline.
