I’ve had a few for endo. You will have 3 scars, one on your belly button and another two. They usually go in via 3 areas.
if you have it done in the morning it’s usually day surgery. Recovery is ok, you will be tired and sore for a few days but nothing too unbearable. The worst is the gas pain! They use gas to inflate you during the op and I got pain in my shoulder that was awful. I was prepared the next time I had one and drank peppermint tea afterwards, you can get capsules but I found the tea worked faster. And walk as much as you are able to. It’s important to keep moving to help prevent the air getting trapped.
Dont worry about the GA, easier said I know, but I was petrified on my first one. You will know nothing at all until they are waking you up after the surgery. You drift in to a sleep and it will be done and before you know it they are waking you up in recovery. It shouldn’t take too long so you aren’t under for a long time.
Recovery depends on the person and also what they do if they find any endo. They may try and remove some of it. But I was home the same day and just walking a bit gingerly for a few days! I found paracetamol helped me for a few days but the recovery isn’t too bad just soreness around the incisions which can be awkward as it’s just where you naturally bend when you sit etc. a week off work should be enough.
When you leave the hospital, a pillow or cushion held over your tummy to stop the seat belt rubbing helps with the journey home! You feel every bump in the road. Loose clothing too so waistbands don’t rub on your incisions l, I lived in big knickers and joggers for the first few days.
You will be fine though and soon recover,
