Mensa does not quantify intelligence. The results of their tests are irrelevant.

So why did i make these poor judgement calls

Because you have poor judgment.

I don't know what other answer you are looking for. It doesn't matter that you are autistic. Every autistic person is different. Just how every NT person is different. Poor judgment is not exclusive to ND people. If you are not able to make appropriate decisions in this job, then it might just mean this job isn't right for you.

No need to be so nasty.

The op is clearly needing some kind of support hence posting. They are autistic and maybe it would be kinder to be less harsh. Or are you always perfect?

It's not nasty, it's blunt. And honest. OP is asking, OP is autistic. OP doesn't do small talk. OP has got a straight answer, finally.

Whether it's the correct answer or not is the question. Personally I would agree with it from what I've read here and on other threads. I'd be seriously concerned with your suitability for continuing in the job.

Divebar2021 · 30/04/2024 07:31

How big a fuck up is it? We all fuck up at work sometimes but the appropriate response is not usually LMAO. That would really piss me off if
I was your boss.

I have autism, my iq is fine

autism has nothing to do with iq

you literally said 'low iq' and 'low eq' in your op

My iq might not be fine if i make dumb mistakes... but I had it tested and it was above average...

OP why are you equating autism and IQ?

I'm autistic. I have a high IQ.
My use of written English is excellent.

I try very hard not to be blunt or rude. Always.

You are doing autistic people a great disservice, starting all these threads about your work woes, and trying to blame your difficulties on your autism.

Try to accept help, and try not to assume that everyone is your enemy.

Learn how to write better, clear English. And thank people who are offering help.

I don't need to... this is an internet forum, not a professional email chain at work
I got an A for English Literature A-level, I won a university-wide award for my dissertation, I won poetry awards, even freelanced as a journalist for a while
the issues im facing at work are unrelated to my writing abilities-- in fact my boss told me i was a 'talented writer' so my technical skills for this job such as data analysis, report writing are fine

murasaki · 30/04/2024 10:59

You do need to write more clearly and politely if you want people to help and advise you. Cant you see that?

You do need to.
Writing poor, incomprehensible English is one of your many problems.

And being dismissive and rude to everyone who is helping you is another of your many problems.

Jegersur · 30/04/2024 15:23

So why did you write low IQ? You are confusing people.

Have you ever tried taking a situational judgement test? Lots of companies use them in their hiring protocols - from supermarkets to the civil service. There are lots of online examples to practise on. These tests might help you understand where you are going wrong with your judgement.

the glaring attitude issue is the biggest of OP's problems IMHO, based on their (many) threads re. their work

Quitelikeit · 30/04/2024 17:03

🤣🤣🤣 you seem quite salty

Tell your boss your are autistic and need a bit more understanding from him when you make errors

Well, you do need to really. If you won't (not can't) articulate yourself clearly what exactly do you expect?

You can't blame 'autism' for you writing what turned out to be a blatant lie in your OP with 'low IQ' suddenly becoming 'my IQ is fine'...

Same here. OP, do you genuinely find it amusing when you make mistakes? If I were a colleague too it would annoy me and I’d find it juvenile, even attention seeking maybe.

MushMonster · 30/04/2024 17:26

OP, we all do these things.
What you need to do is to recover the deleted file.
Go to your sent email and get the file back from there.
Recall your email or ask the person who got it to delete it. If anything confidential, you report it to your IT department.
If you do not know how to do the above, contact your IT department.

Cockapoopoopoo · 30/04/2024 18:50

Wasn't your post yesterday about your inappropriate use of a particular phrase in an email that had annoyed a client? So not the best writing skills then? It is quite odd to create a thread every time you make a mistake at work, which is probably why your getting arsey replies. I am genuinely interested in how you became a management consultant though when you keep make such silly mistakes (though the mistake in this thread is surely very easy to fix)

Jegersur · 30/04/2024 19:35

I don’t think she’s a management consultant. She’s only said “consultant”, which could mean anything. A travel agent is called a travel consultant these days.
