Fox crap outside my door, garbage bags ripped open by foxes (not ours, we don't leave them out overnight). Drunk People shouting, singing in the middle of the night, broken paving slabs that made me break my hip and shoulder, those big ugly rental bicycles dumped in the middle of the walkway. And I live in a really nice street/area?!

Sheep

School parents mounting pavements and parking on the grass verges. They seem to manage to find safe and legal parking when the police are about....

Foxes

Fights,

I've lived here for almost 6 years now and during this time there has been 2 stabbings on the street and numerous fights. Once when the police came they were trying to get a man in the back of the van one of the coppers sprayed their colleague in the face with pepper spray ( is it pepper spray they use? ) by accident

I'd never heard of the town before I moved here ( placed here fleeing DV ) but it's a really rough area

It's on the news at the minute as body parks have been found in the local park.

Cant afford to move as rents have sky rocketed over the years

Forward parked cars on driveways. Many of the owners like to reverse off their drives at speed seemingly without checking for pedestrians on the pavement. Reverse onto your drives, people; much safer.

3 large wheelie bins per property. The houses opposite me do not have front gardens so they literally line the street. So ugly.

Same. Our street is a mix of terraced houses that have been converted into flats and two blocks of purpose-built flats at either end. There is nowhere else for wheelie bins to go instead of the street. The council sent out letters saying any wheelie bins left out on the street would attract fines- there is literally nowhere to put them in a solid amount of cases. I will add that when wheelie bins were first introduced people pointed this out....

My old house had rubbish like washing machines and old cars in their gardens

Some fool nicked a jcb and drove it down our street

Loads of muggings and low level crime

I moved after 2 people where murdered over the road

Now,it's a tiny street with just enough space for the cars (ours is the smallest car) so if anyone else moves in with a big car,the street is fucked

Next door (neighbours from hell) burnt part of their house down but before they went, they had enough furniture and rubbish outside to furnish another house

(Thankfully the council have moved all the burnt stuff so have moved their unburnt rubbish as well-it was starting to turn into a rat hotel)

Beezknees · 29/04/2024 08:24

Potholes. My town is absolutely terrible for them.

Beatrixslobber · 29/04/2024 08:25

I don’t see anything unwanted really. Maybe my mother on her once every ten years visit.
I live in a lovely area. It’s tidy, it’s safe and it’s pretty. I am very lucky.

passtheajax · 29/04/2024 09:08

Woodlice and occasionally ants. I like insects, but I feel these particular ones lower the tone.

Is it Salford by any chance? Body parts found here recently...

@Natsku @Dareisayiseethesunshine where do you live? Sounds great! (Because you can walk from your house to have a swim, not to ogle at men in Speedo's Blush)

Grin no ogling going on here, its almost always old men!
I live a two minute walk from a lake, so people walk or bike down there for a swim then come back in their swimming stuff and a towel to get dry at home.

DustyMaiden · 29/04/2024 10:52

Nothing at all. I guess that makes me very fortunate.

Nellieinthebarn · 29/04/2024 10:53

An abandoned van, its been there for years, apparently its just about on private land so cannot be towed away. And cars being driven too fast for narrow, pavementless lane.

HauntedBungalow · 29/04/2024 11:00

Leprechauns

floppybit · 29/04/2024 13:50

@Natsku that sounds blissful, I'm guessing this is somewhere warm and sunny and not in UK....

It's Finland, so not exactly warm although it is plenty sunny in the summer. Some years the lake is as warm as a bath but usually its a little on the chilly side but we don't mind that. Only option anyway as the swimming pool closes in the summer!

DewinDwl · 29/04/2024 14:00

Neighbour thoroughly making love to washing his spotless car every single day, for hours at a time.

YellowSunRays · 29/04/2024 14:07

Too many neighbours and far too many cars, causing constant petty parking squabbles.
On countdown to putting house up for sale when DC finishes school next year.
I want to see green and no oneelse's house when I move...definitely not my idiot next door neighbour's purple underpants on washing line

kitsuneghost · 29/04/2024 14:10

dogs
traffic using our street as a through road

traffic using our street as a through road

Is it a dead end?

TheCadoganArms · 29/04/2024 14:21

People dumping unwanted household crap on the street with a sign saying 'help yourself' as if its some altruistic upcycling act rather then the more obvious answer that they are too lazy to take said crap down to the council waste centre. No, I don't think anyone wants your 20 year old dvd player that has been left in the rain so please don't just leave it in the street.
