Hi,

can anyone help,

I received a letter from universal credit to migrate, and used the website from the Letter, is there a section when you are asked for the code from your letter at all? I don’t want to click on the submit button in case I’m doing it wrong? Is there another step after that where you are asked, other wise how do I show I’m migrating.

Have you filled out all your income details?

Did you go to the website address on the letter, it is not the usual UC claim website.

Hi i am in the same situation cant find anywhere to input the migration ref/code.
Did you manage to find out if there was another step i also am wondering if ive missed something.

Thanks

Don't submit yet if it clashes with a payday!

Elebag · 30/04/2024 18:06

It's approx five week until you will get your first UC payment too. Have you been able to roughly budget for this? They'll offer you an advance (debt) but it's best avoided if you can.

hi Elebag

I'm due to get my child tax credit tomorrow and was planning on submitting once that's been paid but i cannot find where i need to put the reference in for the guaranteed transitional protection.

Gingerkittykat · 30/04/2024 18:29

Don't do the application today as if you are paid at the end of the month it can end up being messy if they pay you early. Wait until tomorrow to do it.

Glpo · 30/04/2024 19:14

Thanks Gingerkittykat
Yes wages go in last day of the month but I've put it off for so long I've got to get it dont but will wait till tomorrow like you said thanks

Yes I called up, they said it works form using your email address and as long as you’ve used the correct website it will be fine.
Ive don’t mine now as the date was looming so fingers crossed.

Namenamchange if I'm totally honest I'm not sure which website I used and i was stressing out i started a while ago then put it off and now I've got no choice to submit soon but for the life of me can't find where I'm supposed to put the code before I submit the migration claim.

Afolnerd · 30/04/2024 19:59

We have just put our claim in. Held off as long as possible as we are over the savings limit so will only get UC for the 12 months. There was nowhere to put in a code but I have this message showing in my journal so obviously linked somehow.

Afolnerd thank you thats very helpful hopefully when I submit mine will automatically link. I've really left it till the last minute 😬but I've seen some people say claim after you get your child tax then somones just said if I do that then I will have to pay it back as a overpayment.

Elebag · 30/04/2024 20:40

Yes, mine was done close to a tax credits payment so it didn't trigger it to stop in time. I put the money aside as I knew it was paid in error and 3 months on I still haven't been able to pay it back. I added a second message on my UC journal yesterday asking for the bank details to transfer it over. I don't think they're used to people wanting to pay money back quickly.

Glpo · 30/04/2024 21:07

I dont understand how it's an overpayment when it's paid in arrears or I mighnt be being silly. Lots of people have given the advice to do the claim after tax credit payment.
