Seagulls nest on the roof, nightmare!

I know they're called 'gulls' really but whatever.
I live in Liverpool and my flat is on the very top floor in an attic.
They are relentless, the noise from them is constant, it sounds like people are dancing on the roof above me. The constant cawing too.
I informed my lettings agency but they've just ignored it of course, not sure if the council would do anything? It seems to be the case for a lot of houses round here. I'm just fed up with it honestly. Has anyone else had this?

According to a roofer I know you should destroy the nest/eggs each time they build it and eventually they will stop nesting there. I cant bring myself to do that so we just live with them. We have a one legged seagull who visits us around nesting time every year and another little (actually fucking huge) shit who taps on the window winding the cats up.

Oh dear , that sounds awful 😯 sounds terrifying
Sadly I live on the 5th floor of a huge townhouse so it's difficult for me to safely reach the roof. I could try environmental health maybe.

My street is not far from the sea. We have to put cages right over the chimney pots of both the houses in a semi detached setup. If you just put cages over the individual pots, they can nest between them. I feel your pain - the noise and screeching is absolutely horrendous. I never understand why they are protected (and I'd never hurt one), as they are booming round here! Breed all year round, too.

Gulls are a protected species and I'm sure destroying their nest and eggs is illegal

Oh well good job I've never done it. Now I know why they are so cocky, they know they are protected.
