Small noise cancelling headphones

Can anyone recommend any?

I travel quite a lot and am looking for some headphones which will cancel out the noice on planes, but which aren't enormous. I've borrowed my DP's in the past but they huge and take up so much space in my hand luggage, and AirPods and I simply do not get on with each other.

I've seen ones which hook behind your head which might be an option, just wondering if anyone had any recommendations at all.

Noise cancellers are either over ear and bulky, or in-ear isolating. Sounds like you'd consider the traveller's staple Sony 1000's or Bose QC's bulky, which they are a bit. The best alternative would be Airpods Pro, not Airpods, which are remarkably good. Better than My Bose QC35's and of course tiny. They have a very different fit to the non-isolating Airpods.

I've got Bose on-ear headphones because I don't like the massive over the ear ones. Like @HerNameIsIncontinentiaButtocks says, they won't be noise cancelling but I can't hear mu kids talking to me when I've got them on so that's good enough for me.

@HerNameIsIncontinentiaButtocks Thank you for replying. AirPods always seem to fall out of my ears (I'd like to think they're too small for them rather than too big!). I might just have to go for some bulkier ones.

They either need to be big enough to physically cover your ears or ear buds that block the canal... Halfnthe battlenwith noise cancelling is blocking as much noise as possible.

Sony, sennheiser, bose, samsung, google all do buds, so it may be a matter of trial and error

The wildcard might be nuraphone which are over ear with an earplug.

I have both over ear, and in ear Bose noise cancelling. Can't beat over ear, but the in ear ones are actually quite good. I have always had trouble with in ear 'buds' but they actually stay in very well and have a good seal. There is a bit that locks into the shape of the ear so it isn't just the ear canal that holds them.

They are shit for phone calls though, as the mic is so far away from your mouth. Only buy them as headphones.

I have the AirPods Pro 2 and they come with multiple rubber ends. There is also a way in the phone to test the fit to make sure you are wearing the best ones. The noise cancelling is excellent.

Otherwise the Bose QC20 are very good and the case is size of a card holder.
