"Board" games for 5 year old that are less cerebral/more about coordination?

Got a birthday coming up. We have loads of games like pairs, snakes and ladders, uno, junior monopoly etc that get lots of play. But nothing that's primary about physical coordination or just requires quick reactions or jumping around! I don't even know what this category is called. I'm thinking hungry hippos, The Floor is Lava etc. Basically something fairly brainless and silly! Wondering if anyone has any that particularly got a lot of use. Only child/lone parent so bonus if it's suitable for the two of us to play, though we have wider family /play dates so it's not essential. Thank you

Cobra Paw

Frustration? Operation? They're both classics but quite good for the whole physical side. I would suggest Mousetrap but the majority of the delicacy in that is setting the bloody thing up!

Buckaroo or Kerplunk

Buckaroo
Twister
Mouse trap ( have to build it)
Bugs in the kitchen ( have to go quick sometimes to get it to change direction)

Caffeineneedednow · 27/04/2024 12:41

We also had giant floor snakes and ladders and ludo that were more active.

Also just thought of jenga

My 5 year old loves 'charades for kids' and 'fill your pants' which gets them all running around.

IlesFlottante · 27/04/2024 12:46

Funny I had most of these - mousetrap, twister, buckaroo, operation - myself as a child! Things haven't changed much then 😂Tempted by bugs in the kitchen as it's a bit different

I've also just realised you can still buy Screwball Scramble which was another favourite of mine!

We love Screwball Scarmble here - there are 2 now, and you can clip them together.

We also like one where you have to balance penguins on an iceberg, I can't quite remember the name of it.

Pick up stix

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 27/04/2024 12:53

A second recommendation for Cobra Paw. It is lots of fun and you need quick reactions. Dobble falls in to that category too and you can get loads of versions now. Or Rhino Hero? You have to build a big tower with cards without it falling down.

Aparecium · 27/04/2024 12:57

Penguin Peril

Aparecium · 27/04/2024 13:01

Topple

Dontdeclutterthemagic · 27/04/2024 13:01

We love Gone Fishin and Litter Bugs - both require fine motor skills and careful timing.

Grumblebees · 27/04/2024 13:02

Grabolo is good for quick reaction times - we were given it as a 5th birthday present and it's a favourite, and small to take out places. My 8 year old recently received The Fuzzies (think Jenga with pom poms!) which my 5 year old also enjoys.

Feed the Woozle

Tristar15 · 27/04/2024 13:09

Pop up pirate

PTSDBarbiegirl · 27/04/2024 13:10

Operation
Kerplunk
Buckaroo
Pin tail on donkey

(keep a selection as some children will never manage these games, dyspraxia, adhd for example)
Have giant Jenga
Treasure hunt
Marble run build challenge

IlesFlottante · 27/04/2024 13:14

Thanks for so many suggestions, I'm looking them all up.
