Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just making my first cup of tea of the day & about to put the washer on. Haven't decided whether I'll drink it out in the garden yet - it looks nice out there but it's been cold still. Everyone else is still sleeping so it's nice and peaceful to start the day 😊

There are lots of little things I want to do today - the outline of the customisation on a couple of t-shirts for our Eras Tour night, help dd2 sort under her bed, shift the last of the tools into the new tool box rather than several boxes under the sink. If there's time I'll write a list of things we still need for the kittens and sort my online Tesco too.

Dd1's working at 2pm so she'll probably spend the day chilling before then & I'll check how much of the A-level Law paper homework she did last night. Not sure what time she'll be finishing until she gets there so will transfer taxi money in case it's late.

Dd2 thinks she's off out with a friend for a couple of hours once we've done under her bed (or at least part of it!). She did her English homework last night so only has Maths to do.

I'm off to a friends for drinks and takeaway later on so just dd2 and her dad for tea. They'll probably order takeaway pizza too.

What about all of you? 🙂

Afternoon all! I’m currently on the sofa under a furry blanket, it’s freezing here today!!

I took DS1 to football training this morning then popped to Wickes and Sainsbury’s on the way back. Picked him up and came home to DP making corned beef hash and fried eggs for brunch (sometimes he has very good ideas!)

DS1 made bacon and egg sandwiches for him and DS2 so the kitchen is a bit of a boom site right now - I’ll tidy it when I warm up a bit.

Later the boys are going to their dad’s and DP and I are having some sort of creamy, garlicky, mushroom and chicken thing for dinner and a chilled one as we’re off out tomorrow for Daytime Drinking! Yay!

Why does your husband not help you at home OP? Can’t he pick up DD when she finishes work? You work so so hard for your girls.

MassiveSalad22 · 27/04/2024 13:33

Just getting home from a living museum and luckily DD hasn’t slept in the car so hopefully will have a good nap at home and we can chill a bit. Got a gig with band tonight (singing). DH will get a takeaway.

MassiveSalad22 · 27/04/2024 13:39

Oh I need to clean the carpets too as borrowed my friend’s machine

RabbitsRock · 27/04/2024 17:52

Theoldwoman I’m not sure but I get the impression that the OP lives separately from her DH/DP

Late to the party today but hope everyone has had a good day.

Had a huge day yesterday, had to attend a funeral a few hours away. Ended up leaving home at 8am and didn't get home to almost midnight. So today was unsurprisingly low key.

Kids had swimming and we popped to library and grabbed some supplies for lunch. Proper food shop is coming tomorrow.

DC2 wanted to make some birthday cards as we have several family birthdays coming up so I now have a whole collection of feathery / sequined / glittery cards! We also had all the playdoh out. So lots of mess to clean up.

We had bolognese for dinner. Mine like it stuffed in the giant pasta shells. Now they are watching Zootropolis. I am in the count down to bedtime.

It's wet and cold so I didn't feel too guilty about being so lazy.

I love these threads.
Today DH went to Birmingham NEC with his friend for a Model Rail Exhibition, so they were away early and back late.
This morning I vacuumed downstairs, sorted dishwasher and loads of washing/clean washing away before the teenagers were ever up. I also briefly went to Tesco.
I took some stuff from my mum's house out of the seats of the car but the boot is still full of stuff. My lovely mum died in February and we are clearing her house; it's taking ages and we haven't done all the rooms yet.
My lunch was a baked potato with tuna, onion and cucumber mixed with vinegar.
In the afternoon, DS cleaned the bathroom sink and DD did some baking, partly for a church fundraiser tomorrow and partly for her Duke of Edinburgh Gold.
We can take the cakes in the car tomorrow now that I've at least cleared space for passengers to sit there.
Found a book called 'The Resistance' by Gemma Malley and read some of that this afternoon then remembered I needed to sort an early tea (salmon, potatoes and carrots) because we were going to a concert my friend was singing in tonight.
Not sure how long we'll be at church tomorrow because of the fundraiser. Ironically it's been a bright, sunny but cold day today and we were too busy to get any cycling done. Not sure if we'll manage tomorrow as I think the rain's due back then.
