Tough water bottles for primary school

2 terms in and 2 water bottles destroyed. Both from Smiggle 🤦🏻‍♀️

The first was dropped and leaked terribly and the second he's chewed the silicone straw as he keeps hanging it from his teeth, and all the pictures have come off from being dropped and no doubt rolled around the playground.

Anyone found any durable bottles. I contemplated a SHO straw bottle but I wonder if they dent when dropped and how well the pictures stay on

Ah right I see now!

Agree 100% - yet more work for teachers!

@Weallnamechangesometimes maybe push back against the pain in the arse parents who let their children bring horrible sticky stuff in their water bottles

I only put water in mine and am perfectly happy for the teachers to pour away and refill if they want. Thankfully my children’s school doesn’t feel the need to police bottle choice.

We gave up and re used disposable bottles till they broke or were lost.

even if you spend squillions it’ll get dropped scraped , bent , bashed , chewed and probably lost the first day anyway 🤣

Get a plain stainless steel one (not coloured) then it can go in the dishwasher too.

We've had sistema ones for about 10 years, without them breaking. We bought them because DD1 kept breaking other bottles.

LadyEloise1 · 21/04/2024 15:47

My dc use Sistema Wave bottles as they can be washed in the dishwasher- top rack only as I learned to my cost - five lids down 🙄🙈
And Sistema don't sell spare lids, sadly.

I have seen a video of the gunge a Dad found in the lid of his child's water bottle ?
S c a r y !
Hence the ability to put in the dishwasher is paramount.

Ion8 - the standard ones are fine in the dishwasher

For people wondering why no squash or flavoured water.........ants!

wafflesmgee · 22/04/2024 22:01

Also no squash because some chuldren can't afford it and feel bad if others have it
Also because we don't know if it's sugar free or not, and if it isn't its very bad for their teeth to drink from every day multiple times a day.

Also the sugar free squash has an ingredient in that I can't remember the name of that may b carcinogenic

Also if children get used to drinking water it's better for them longer term as its easier to have healthy water than healthier squash/juice, it is what all dentists and doctors recommend as best for children
