My Sunday scaries have started seeping into Saturday night and I've decided I'm just not having it. The best way I've found to help with this is to make nice plans for Sunday. I've got my favourite breakfast in but now I'm wondering what else to do with the day? How do you like to spend your Sundays?

Gardening as looks like a dry day.

I'll start the day with a trip to the tip then reward myself with a sit down and iced latte in a nice cafe, grab some shopping in the way out then will be in the garden most of the day while DD goes out biking and hanging out with her friends.

St georges day parade with the rainbows and guides in the morning, then will do a big shop then take DS swimming

Slow breakfast with DH over coffee and catching up some telly after being apart majority of the week.

Put the slow cooker on for lamb shanks and then DH will do diy while I tidy. Then settle down to cricket while reading our books.

Then a full works self care shower in the evening like you trying to put off the Sunday scaries. May try and get in a workout to make me tired for bedtime.

Church, lead u5s Sunday School, lunch with church family, chillout with maybe board games or TV and a glass of red later. Monday is a non working day for me, and DH WFH so a slower start as no commute

Snugglemonkey · 20/04/2024 21:48

We plan every Sunday as it is our day when noone works. Though tomorrow will be very chilled. Up early due to dc, but that is grand gor light breakfast and getting ready.

Dc1 has rugby at 9, dc2 will go to the park to knacker them. Then home, brunch for us. Dc2 will nap. The rest of us are doing garden stuff to get it tidied up, buy also the safety net put on the trampoline etc as it is time to be playing outside again.

We have potatoes and dahlias to plant too. So just pottering and playing here.

Have lamb to roast. We will have dinner early. Then watch something together and get everyone bathed and into bed early for the new week.

A lay in. Thought about going to london to see the marathon (DP idea). I want to go to IKEA and sort the garden out. We will probably just go to the local shopping outlet place.

Wake up as late as DD4 "allows" usually around 8am. Breakfast will be pancakes followed
Family swim in the morning. All out and ready for the rest of the day by noonish.

Probably go home for lunch and a potter about. Will take DD for a bike ride around the village "the long way" to a postbox to post a thank you card.

And that's about it! Will shove DH outside to now grass and cut hedge at some point.

Travelling 150 miles ready to attend my dad's funeral on Monday.

dudsville · 20/04/2024 22:04

The gym. I've been going for just over 4 months. I've been increasing incrementally in pace or tension, the a few weeks ago I added 10 min to the routine and tomorrow I start working up to another aprons 20.

I've got a pile a small sewing jobs and some ironing.

There will probably be a nap at some point, and i hope to do some reading.

MumChp · 20/04/2024 22:08

Eat a nice breakfast on a café with dh, dd2 and ds
Join a church service
Lunch (outside in sunshine I hope)
Visit a museum
Tea in a nice restaurant
A long hot shower
A film on Disney+ with snacks

The joy of holiday!

Dargawn · 20/04/2024 22:10

Running at 7, housework 9-12, dog walk, shopping delivered, weights, gardening, dinner, tv, bed.

mrsfollowill · 20/04/2024 22:12

I'm having the longest 'lie in' - no young kids here so will get up when I feel like it- sometimes get up have tea and toast and go back bed til 12. Bacon butties for a late lunch- visit my mum who is mostly housebound. If the weather is nice and she feels up to it we may go out for coffee and cake very locally. Spag bol for tea as I can chuck it together and leave it simmering when I'm out - DH is not a cook but he can be trusted with a simmering pan for a couple of hours. Hot bath and wine before bed ready for Monday morning- WFH mostly so at least no commute. Flowers for you @FoxRedPuppy it must be a tough time.

Jeannie88 · 20/04/2024 22:13

DH out with his friends so early get up for me with DC, then visit to in laws to see a new baby, then to my Mum's to help to clear heavy stuff from garden, then home to sort out clean clothes, iron uniforms, bath times, evening watching the second half of a film from last week together, then the long bedtime routine and bed for us so all ready to get up for work and school run next day. Lovely really, spending time with family and having the time to get prepared for the next week. Busy but good 👍

Stillwearingskinnies · 20/04/2024 22:29

@FFoxRedPuppy so sorry for your loss
We're going for a walk in a bluebell forest & having a fry up for brunch. My eldest will probably be pretending to revise for his mocks

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 20/04/2024 22:32

Watching the London marathon from the comfort of my sofa - got invited up to London with friends to go and watch it but can't be bothered plus will get a better view from tv!

Itsnotwhatyouknowitswhoyouknow · 20/04/2024 22:37

Parents are staying, so will likely go out for coffee by the beach and take DD’s bike or scooter. Then food shop, make a cake for dms birthday, then bbq burgers in the garden and dad will want to watch the football.
In the evening, Dm and I will watch the rest of baby reindeer on Netflix

MadisonAvenue · 20/04/2024 22:39

I’m off to Wembley with my adult son for the FA Cup semi final.
