Getting to Blackheath tomorrow (marathon)

I’m in Farringdon and need to get to the start line for the marathon, Blackheath specifically is the nearest station.

I am stressing. This morning it had said Elizabeth Line to Abbey Wood, change and get on railway line (this was via Google maps) but on TfL app, that option is not coming up. So confused!

Anyone want to calm me down

Why is TfL saying get on a bus?

I live in Blackheath. From Farringdon you're close to Cannon Street, Charing Cross and London Bridge. Any of those 3 are within 20 minutes of Blackheath.

Look the times up on southeastern: https://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/?gl=1115z2gtdtdgaNDcyNTY2NzkwLjE3MTM2MzI5Nzk..gaaTP8RFYCZ2KMTcxMzYzMjk3OC4xLjEuMTcxMzYzMzAwOC4zMC4wLjA..gaaEC26GPL97FMTcxMzYzMjk3OC4xLjEuMTcxMzYzMzAwOC4zMC4wLjA.

You can go from Waterloo east to Blackheath direct -= saying no 40 bus to southward station and then 5 min walk to Waterloo east. I checked tfl for above.
You May struggle to get from Woolwich to Blackheath on a bus tomorrow as they block off lots of roads in that area.

are you running! good luck!

Your original route is coming up for me in TFL. Sometimes you have to get it to rethink a couple of times!

There are loads and loads of different ways to get there. Citymapper doesn't suggest the Abbey Wood route at all.

The 63 bus will take you to Waterloo East, from where you can get a train straight to Blackheath.

Thanks all.

I wanted to avoid buses, don’t know why!

Been down to Farringdon and spoke 2 lovely people who said the Elizabeth line to Abbey is good to do. I will look up the others suggested now too.

You’d think I’d be more nervous about the race but no, getting there is stressing me out more 😂

Hope you get there OK. I know someone who ran the Manchester Marathon last week, he thoroughly enjoyed it and said the crowd were so supportive. He'll be watching a member of his family in London tomorrow.

I wouldn't go to abbey wood. how would you get from there to Blackheath? Don't try by bus at all, all the roads are closed

Google maps is saying after Elizabeth “south east train Charing Cross via Lewisham” to Blackheath (from Abbey Wood), or Circle line via Liverpool st, to Embankment and walk to Charing Cross to Blackheath.

couple of options and it’s knowing which one is best.
