How any holidays is too many holidays?

I don't mean because of cost, that will be different for everyone, but does there come a point when too often takes the shine off or they become more tiring than enjoyable?

I've had a rough few years, DC are now adults and I'm on my own, with more disposable income than I've ever had, so I've started grasping every opportunity.

In the last/next few months I've:

Sept Alps week hiking, alone
October Mallorca long weekend, friends
December week, friends
Feb Italy winter sports week, alone
April Holland long weekend, friends
May, costal stay UK BH weekend, friends
May week hiking UK, alone
Aug, UK long weekend, family
Aug, week activity holiday Wales, alone
November, Spain, weekend with friends

I've just been invited to go Norway for a few days between the two May trips and I'd quite like to organise something for late June/early July, possibly US or Canada.

There is no such thing as too many holidays. If you can afford it, have fun.

Completely agree. Soak up every second that you can!

I'm not sure I would ever tire of holidays and travel. I love visiting new places, and I love time away with dh and/or dd. DD has the same thoughts on holidays and travel.

I'd go away even more if I could, work/family commitments and finances are the only barrier really.

I love travel but I am also a real homebody and like coming home after a trip. I do also feel guilty about flying often though so try to restrict that.

Having said that, I can’t afford multiple holidays anyway and don’t get enough annual leave so it’s a moot point for me!

But if I were retired or otherwise not working and money was no object, I’d maybe want four or five trips a year, not all abroad and not all involving flights. I think I would still want plenty of time at home, especially in the summer as I live 500m from a lovely beach in the south where the summers are often good. I also like special things to feel special so things like holidays and posh meals out, the occasional stay in a really swanky hotel etc- those things feel like a huge treat because we’re not doing them all the time.
