Can anyone recommend a clothes horse that doesn't break within a week?

This is the second bastard one that's broken on me within a week!

I don't overload it, not sure why it keeps breaking

They just collapse and don't go back up again

Any advice for products that won't do this would be great

Placemarking as I've been through a few myself over the years and the legs end up buckling
I liked the look of a heated one in Dunelm , but it wasn't cheap and rather large , so I didn't bother in the end.

Snap. If it's that heated white one

I've had my eye on it but not prepared to spend the money if it too will just break easily

I got the tower one after a recommendation on here. Have had it for years now.

Also have one like the other one that I use for heavier items like jeans and towels

I have 3 different ones bought from Poundstretchers (all different styles).
I've had them years. They are virtually indestructible.

Funny you would ask this, we were just chatting about ours the other day (gripping evenings in our house...) because I was remarking how it is still going strong after 15 years and a couple of years of that it lived out in the garden in all weathers.

It's a minky standard three tier one, they are about £30 in Argos etc, the quality might have declined since we bought ours but if not then they are definitely worth a shot!

Turkeyhen · 16/04/2024 13:25

The Minky one I have is way better quality than others I've bought.

Thinking of trying an Ikea one but not sure how good they are.

the80sweregreat · 16/04/2024 13:25

Yes. I saw it a few months back , but unless I ever get a home with a utility or an actual laundry room it was a no ! My friend has a laundry area in her house and I'm so jealous of an area for a washer and airers and all sorts.
I just didn't have anywhere it could go near a plug or where to store it in the summer and so on.
Anyway, I bought a traditional one off eBay and learnt not to put too much on it this time.
You always see ads for them or online with a couple of tea towels on it. 🙄

We have this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B098SV3PLY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

It’s sturdy and you can dry duvet covers, sheets, bath towels etc and it won’t topple over or break.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 16/04/2024 13:31

Oh snap - didn’t see the above post!

I have this Rail

I put clothes on hangers and dry either indoors or outdoors. It takes a huge weight.

SparklesAndFeathers · 16/04/2024 13:32

(And it folds up really neatly too)

Gettingbysomehow · 16/04/2024 13:33

I don't know, I've had mine for 25 years and it's cheap and nasty.

RaraRachael · 16/04/2024 13:48

I have 2 basic plastic and metal ones from my local hardware shop. I've never had any issues with either of them. They hold a surprising amount of clothes. The only time one got damaged was when I kicked it across the room in a temper and now it's a bit wobbly 😅

Autumn1990 · 16/04/2024 13:52

This sort of thing never breaks. Quite expensive new but can be picked up second hand or even antique and will last for ever

I've got one that is wooden and one that is plastic, had both for ages tbh. Cannot imagine either was very expensive - I am thinking Wilkos (RIP) or Asda?

Got DS one from Asda for uni and AFAIK it's fine. Was about £20.

blowthemakiss · 16/04/2024 14:40

Got one in ikea 20 years ago, has lasted a family of 4 absolutely fine. Fits LOADS of washing. Love it
