Eyebrow help

My eyebrows are thinning and they are getting lighter and greyer. I basically look like I barely gave any which makes my forehead look big 😞. What are my options. I'm useless with makeup and wouldn't even know where to start. I don't want over the top really dark ones that some people have as I wouldn't suit them. My hair is medium brown.

I’m actually the same. My eyebrows are almost invisible and when I’ve experimented they just look like cartoon brows. Too bright, big and dark, even though I used a pale colour

That's my concern. I don't want them to look painted on as I know I'd be rubbish at it.

Micro blading has come a long way since the angry bird look, you can have semi permanent brows with individual hair strokes that look really natural, you just need to find a really good PMU artist that you trust, one that has lots of before and after photos. Check out feather, nano & powder brows. My eyebrows were disappearing, I had them done, so pleased with the result.

Go to a recommended eyebrow stylist, they can really make a huge difference in how you look. I go every 6 weeks now and my face feels transformed, I look younger in photos now than I did 10 years ago because my eyebrows look good.

What do they do?

What is microblading and does it hurt?

I have mine tinted. I'm very fair so took a lot of convincing to try it but they put the tint on and wipe it off pretty much straight away so it's not too dark

Blink360 · 16/04/2024 09:51

Have you had your thyroid checked lately?

I'd panic it would be too dark and I'd be stuck with it for weeks.

No. I think it's just age.

I had my eyebrows microbladed two weeks ago and I'm delighted. It's basically individual little hairs tattood on - semi permanent and lasts about 18 months

'I'd panic it would be too dark and I'd be stuck with it for weeks.'

Op, you only have to search micro blading on Mumsnet to see the disastrous results. Too dark, too thick and unnatural looking.

You're better off tinting what you already have and then watching tutorials about how to use cosmetics.

You don't want to be stuck with something semi permanent that can last well over six months or even a year and looks dreadfully fake.

DrJoanAllenby · 16/04/2024 17:59

Tutorial here that gives natural looking results

I decided against microblading- had it booked and lost deposit!

Microblading - yes or no http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/5002200-microblading-yes-or-no

Here is the thread to read

Go for a wax and tint preferably from someone who is recommend to you

Pay between £15-20 unless it's a fancy place

It's not permanent last - few weeks max ask for a natural look.

BIossomtoes · 16/04/2024 18:44

I draw mine on with a pencil. The trick is finding one without red tones, then practice following your natural brow as a guide. Everything will look too dark to begin with until you get used to it.

DilemmaDelilah · 16/04/2024 19:01

I had powder brows done in June just before I started chemo. I insisted on the lightest colour she had and I thought it was a bit dark (and frightening!) at the time, but after about a month they settled down. Now, 9 months later, I think they look perfect! But they will need re-doing in a couple of months I think.

So if you do end up having yours done don't let yourself be persuaded to go darker. or more bushy than you want.
