Im probably kidding myself but ive always wanted a gorgeous afternoon tea somewhere like the ritz. But I'll be in jeans and trainers and no make up. So maybe somewhere less posh.

Where do you recommend,?

There is a tour bus that is good. Get afternoon tea on there. Sorry can't remember the name.

Bridget's bakery is the tour bus

The Dorchester was gorgeous. Not sure it's there's a dress code though.

Brigit's Bakery (sorry, originally said Bridget's) was good fun. Food was nice, nice to see a few of the sights.

I would choose the Dorchester again though.

St Pancras Hotel is lovely.

Look on group on, lots of options usually

In the Savoy we were able to walk in with jeans and no makeup or anything, most people there were pretty casual and seemed to be all tourists.

The Firmdale Hotels group have great afternoon teas. I've tried Charlotte St, sure any of them would be good.

I really like the cafe at Fulham Palace

Dorchester and claridges are my faves and “classic”

You might like ham hotel’s afternoon tea.
or for something quirkier maybe look at sketch?

The Langham is divine

Theatre Royal Drury Lane serves afternoon tea in The Salon which is a beautiful room. The Lanesborough is very good for afternoon tea and they have music as well at the weekend.

The Barbican conservatory is nice, but it's not always on and you have to book ahead.

Claridges is by far the best, but you do need to book 3 months in advance. The dress code might be a bit more formal too.
Fortnums would be good for something more relaxed, or Swan at the Globe (on the South Bank).

Bridget B’s in Covent Garden is lovely (think they are the bus people as well, but the actual cafe is very nice indeed, although not giving “London hotel vibes”, if that’s what you’re after). Would second Fortnum and Mason too.

Madhus of Mayfair for high chai ... Indian British fusion .

We went to Madhus at The Grove In Watford... amazing experience. Some people were dressed up and some were in jeans and trainers ( possibly residents of the hotel or users if the golf facilities) .

We enjoyed ours at The Wolseley, and people were dressed in a wide range of formality (from jeans to full purple suits with fedoras!)

The decor is full on Gatsby, art deco black, and our server was so lovely.
