Advice needed please - how do I avoid getting scammed selling something on Facebook?

I'm selling my peloton bike - someone is very interested, but how do I avoid getting scammed? Do I ask for cash? Or do I ask for bank transfer before they take the bike? I think Paypal is dodgy isn't it? Because they can claim the money back. Thanks!

I had the same trying to sell a pram on FB - everyone wanted to send their son / brother / daughter etc. as soon as I asked for a full name they stopped messaging. I gave up in the end, as all I got were scammers. Still have the pram and haven't worked out how to sell it yet!

I've sold expensive(ish) goods via fb.
When I was handed a wad of £50's I really thought they were fake and i'd been scammed but the bank took them.
I did take a bank transfer - but we had arranged the courier for him so had his home address.
Other times I always ask for cash on collection and please no £50's. But as others have said.....fb checks first. Does it look like a genuine profile? Is it local? (Actually many of my buyers aren't because if you sell specialist things people will travel to collect....e.g. if you were waiting for the right model Pelton bike in the right condition at the right price you may travel a fair distance.)
