Posting on behalf of my friend haha

were mid 20s and my friend has met a really lovely lovely person, he works full time, has hobbies and I’ve met him and he’s just a very nice lad! Anyway,

he does drive and got his own car but my friend noticed it’s an automatic she asked him and he said that he did pass in an automatic as he was nervous about learning to drive and just wanted to get it sorted and wanted his independence. She said she doesn’t know how she feels about this but I said he’s got a car and driving. I personally wouldn’t find it an issue. Do you think she is BU?

Whilst it wouldn’t stop me daring someone I also can see why it could be a bit of potential red flag, as in, are there other areas of life this person isn’t confident or able to achieve that’s ’normal’ for most people and that actually could really hold someone back as a life partner and be an indicator for a much bigger issue of say huge lack of self esteem or drive to achieve things.

Blimey!

That's really bizarre, but then again, when I took my automatic licence, I had quite a few negative comments about it.

I’m surprised that she doesn’t insist he can double declutch as well like I had to do on the first old banger I started driving in aged seventeen, as it hadn't even got as far as having mesh synchronisation, an old 1937 Morris 8 with a starting handle that I bought for the grand sum of £10, back when Methuselah was a lad.

Yeah I guess it's not very sexy or something.

Your friend is more interested in being entertaining than actually meeting someone. That's fine but hopefully she realises that this is all bullshit behaviour before she actually wants to meet someone.

Only an automatic license here too.

Passed with one minor. No accidents or even minor dings over the years.

Have a PhD, a full time professional job, no mortgage, plenty of savings, a DH of 16 years, plenty of friends, have travelled the world alone, can tie my own shoe laces and everything...

May be hard to see those things past all the red flags my driving license clearly raises though. Must go thank DH for taking a risk on me. 🤔

🤣🤣

Same. My measly automatic licence hasn’t precluded me from getting a law degree. Or qualifying as a lawyer and staying in that career for nearly two decades. Or raising 4 kids albeit with varying degrees of success

I’m also mortgage free. Own a couple of properties abroad. And not only can I tie my shoes - I also remember to breathe every day! Proud
