Do both parents have to attend baby passport appointment?

Hi,

we have an appointment in Peterborough with our 4 month old baby today for her first passport.

We have to take our almost 4 year old and our 2 year old, as we have no other childcare arrangements.

If we take the toddlers into the appointment, they will be very difficult.

We would prefer if 1 parent took the baby to the appointment and the other one went for a walk/to the playground with our other 2 children.

Is this possible? Or do both parents have to be in attendance?

Thanks for your advice xx

You only need 1 parent's signature for an application. Which parent has been put as the person applying for the passport? That person should attend the appointment.

What's the appointment for? I just applied online for my children's first passports.

The parent who signed the passport application needs to be there. The other parent doesn't even need to leave the house so can stay home with said toddlers. Also you do not even need to take the baby whose passport it is.

I did an appointment in London last year to fast track teen DDs passport and she was not with me.

I'm guessing it's a fast track 1 week passport and that they are going on holiday fairly soon
