Managing stress in pregnancy

Cross posted here for traffic

I’m currently suffering quite badly from stress due to my own medical issues, FIL being very unwell and also our house sale/purchase being delayed at the last minute.

I’m looking for ways to manage my stress as I know it’s not good for me and baby. Unfortunately I have placenta previa so I am unable to do things like pregnancy yoga, pregnancy massage, swimming etc. I can’t even have a bath to relax as the flat we’re living in doesn’t have one (I was so looking forward to my bath at the new house over the weekend!).

I’d appreciate any suggestions on how I can de-stress.

What about things like mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, hypnotherapy for relaxation? Eating nice comforting food, reading, going to bed early, doing things you enjoy or find comforting?

To a certain extent, easier said than done I know, it's about putting yourself first and not letting things you can't control stress you out. When you have children, you don't easily have time for yoga or meditation or long baths, you have to just learn to not ruminate on things or to let things that might affect your wellbeing get to you. It's not easy, but cultivating self-care practices in that way (not the sort that require candles and classes) is actually a really important life skill for surviving the early years (well, all of the years probably!).
