Posted in holidays but no replies -
I feel like I've never been on holiday before - first holiday as a family of 4 in a few weeks. DS8 and DS4. not been away 'properly' (i.e. more than a weekend in Centre parcs) since pre covid (so ds4 hasn't ever flown)

We're doing 9 nights, All Inclusive, beach/pool type holiday. 4 hour flight.

What on Earth do I need? I used to be so organised, now I feel like I'm looking at a blank sheet of paper with no idea where to begin. Help!

@Vitriolinsanity I have actually seen that the hotel we are staying in charge £7 a bag and take it and do it for you, I am VERY tempted to spend £21 on 3 bags and have most of it washed, dried ironed and vacuum packed the last day! Feel like it'll be £21 well spent!

That's excellent value for money!

If you have enough luggage allowance, I like to get some pool/beach toys in advance as well as they are much cheaper in Asda/home bargains than abroad. Goggles, pool toys etc. We also take card games or small games to keep in hand luggage because they can be used on the plane or at the airport as well as taken out in the evening to keep children occupied. Pens and a pad always get used in the evening too!

This is great actually, we have 25kg each but we're only going to take 3 cases, may take a 4th just because we can and use it for things like this!

Yes I'm a bit of a saddo! DD is in exams year so we've not done anything over any school hols yet and won't do till done as it's Revision Central. So until we go away in the summer I'm living vicariously through everyone else's holiday Grin

Amazing, This has been me for the last 4 years while paying FT nursery fees - as soon as the 30 hours kicked in back in Sept we got this booked and it's felt like such a long time coming!

Packing cubes. Honestly I never knew I needed them until i used them. I mix mine and DH’s clothes up between them just incase a bag goes missing, then we both have clothes. They keep everything so much more organised and I always seem to have more room.

Aldi sunscreen is the best. It’s got a 5 star UVB and UVA rating which is better than Nivea and is cheap as chips. Also, Aldi sell tiny little packs of very concentrated squash, by the checkout, which I take because I get fed up with fizzy drinks and water. I, also, take mine and DH’s metal fake Chilly water bottles. You can fill them up at the airport and they keep water/squash cold round the pool, down the beach or if you’re out for the day.
