Please tell me about your estate cars with 360 parking cameras

I've been trying to research our next car and getting nowhere fast.

We currently have a Nissan Qashqai. It has a brilliant 360 parking camera and it's utterly invaluable where we live (residents' parking, having to reverse daily into tight spaces).

I don't like the new Qashqai - don't like its new engine or the fact it's now only petrol/hybrid.

I'm looking for an estate. Whilst I'm not averse to another SUV, I'm aware that no doubt these will soon be taxed to buggery, so an estate would be good as we have a toddler and a lot of stuff.

Any car that we have MUST have a 360 camera. It's a non-negotiable. So far, the only options I've found that have them are BMW touring (with a specific parking package), and, I believe, Audi and Mercedes (again, though, I don't believe the 360 cameras come as standard). These are all more than I'd ideally like to pay.

We'd prefer a diesel, but can have petrol if needs must, as long as the engine is big enough and it can shift. Must be an automatic.

I've not yet managed to find any car website that allows you to filter to show cars with 360 cameras. Even if you type it as a keyword, it tends to show you a 360 "view" of the car in question.

So - if anyone has an estate with a 360 camera - please tell me about it.

Following as I was only saying to dp the other day that I’d like a proper estate car again and that there don’t seem many around now.

@Piscesmumma1978 yes, it seems that SUVs have replaced estates for a lot of manufacturers. We have always had estates as we have big roof loads (bikes and ski boxes). Luckily they are still very popular in continental Europe, Germany in particular, so Volvo, Skoda, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Audi all still make them.

I have self parking on my c4 Picasso exclusive plus and also reverse camera and front and back sensors, but they do have the option to add 360 parking as I have seen others with it. I can confirm though that it's easier to park than my mini convertible. 😝

I have a Mercedes c class estate with a 360 camera, it's probably my favorite thing about the car! If you can stretch your budget I really recommend the c class estate. I have two young children & the estate is perfect, no bigger than my previous c class saloon but with so much room for a pram, shopping, bikes & all the odds & ends we seem to carry around everywhere.
Last time we changed our car I was looking into 360 cameras & I think you are fairly limited with who offers them sadly.

Thanks @Catsandslippers - that's really useful. What trim is your C-class or do the 360 cameras come as standard? Have you found the C-class to be reliable?

Ok a SUV I know, but so it your Nissan currently, or a crossover at least but a LR Discovery Sport not only has the 360 cameras but also has a camera as your rear view mirror - it is very good indeed.

I have it on another model but parents have a Disco Sport and find it very useful in addition to the 360 cameras.

I've just checked and I think it only comes on the premium plus extras package which I believe is the top spec one. I think the way it works is you pick your trim level and then you pick your extras, so you could have the entry level trim but with the premium plus extras.
We've had a saloon which was AMG Line trim and now have an AMG estate, both had premium plus extras. Both cars have been a dream, no major issues & I'm now fully converted to Mercedes.
Both cars were a few years old when we bought them through Mercedes as approved used. If you're buying used I would recommend doing that as they come with a warranty which in our experience has been really good. Might just be that we have a good local dealership though so probably worth checking reviews!

Another vote for the xc40 / 60 / 90 range. The cameras are incredible!!

Do they all have them? I was looking at this thread as I really want the 360 cameras in my next car after driving SIL’s Volvo but I’m wondering now if I already have them and I’ve been driving around for 3.5 years without realising I just need to press a button 😳 I have at least found the rear view camera, love that feature!

@InTheRainOnATrain All the camera functions and activations are on the PiviPro screen in the newer Landrovers. Say you put the car in reverse and the reversing camera appears on the screen then there are further options from that screen.

The rear view mirror camera I know is on some grades of Disco Sports and Defenders, not sure which of the other ones it is on.

THANK YOU - I had no idea there were other view options!! Mine is a 2020 model so not new new but I suppose not old either, and top spec (whatever that means). Bought during covid so the salesman practically threw the keys at me from 6ft away and I never got the full new car show round. I do have the rear view mirror camera and have found that! Going to play with it tomorrow morning and will report back but I’ll feel like a prize lemon if it does indeed have the 360 view 🤣

@InTheRainOnATrain Do you have the LR app on your phone, if so there is also the online digital handbook, there is a whole section on the cameras.

You can also download the manuals online. I presume your car will be an HSE trim, my car is also 2020 anda HSE, so I cannot imagine for one moment you will not have 360 cameras.

Make sure you have the latest software update too as there are always updates to the cameras amoungst other things.

Didn’t know there was a digital handbook, I thought the app was just for remembering where you parked and warming it on a cold day, have looked and yes I have the 360 cameras FFS. I’m an idiot 🤣Thank you so much!!
