At work I have to ring in sick each day, I have done this for 7 days, and now the doctors have signed me off for a week, do I have to keep calling in every day? I have emailed my doctors note over. It's nhs if that's any difference.

No you don't.

No you shouldn’t have to phone in while you have a doctors note.

Though if you havent already i'd ring and inform them youre signed off and you've emailed the sick certificate over. Emails get missed.

Hi no don't keep calling, send in your doctors note and ring to check they have it... Confirm your signed off until X date with them.

They might want you to ring just before your due back to update/ confirm your going back or you intend to see your GP for another note if still unwell. Hth

Depends what your company's sickness policy is. Ring to tell them you've emailed the sick note through and ask them.

Thanks all, rang in and said I had sent it in, so haven't got to ring in the rest of the week.

That’s good - last thing you want when you’re poorly is to have to phone into work every day!

Depends on the company sick leave policy.

Ultimately the initial call is to inform your work aren't fit to work and to give a resumption date. Any follow up call is then to inform your work you won't be resuming on the date you gave last time you contacted them. Then it's fairly standard, where the sick leave absence was long, to call a few days before you are going to resume to confirm you are resuming.

You don't usually need to contact daily unless every day you said "I'll be back in tomorrow."

Most places require a doctor's note after a certain number of days sick - and the note needs to date from the first day you were sick. (My current place it's after two days, but I've worked places where it's after two days or straight away if the first sick day is a Friday or a Monday).

Ah, I see you got you answer already. Sorry, took me ages to write and post (mostly because ironically someone was calling in sick!)

100% dependent on your workplace absence policy.
