Good Bedding for Hot Flushes

Excuse the clumsiness of the title. I'm on Tamoxifen and unsurprisingly wake up every night cause of hot flushes. I already use cooling mats which helps, but I'm wondering about some new bedding especially with the Summer hopefully coming. Any recommendations which dont break the bank welcome.

Always use natural fibres, linen, cotton, same with your duvet, dont get anything synthetic, same with the mattress, ours is a wool mattress, same with the protector and topper, all natural. Pillows are wool, pillow protectors are wool. Make sure everything has a cotton cover, not polyester

And same if you wear anything in bed.

Dont have the radiator on in the room and put the window on open all the time with the crack open, you can probably lock it in this position, ours is.

My bedding is all cotton, at least 400tc and it doesn’t really help. I also wonder about this. All i can think of is getting a fan and pointing it towards me.

I have cotton everything and still get the hot rushes in the night.

I have however found some success by moving into the spare room so I can move around from cold patch to cold patch on my own!

Also DH won't sleep with window open so I can have it open in the spare room.

I think that there are some anti depressants that can help with flushes and can be used for those who aren't able to use HRT.

You do have to think about the pillows and mattresses though, its no good having cotton everything and polyester synthetic pillows/duvet, that wont help

The one thing that eased my hot flushes ( menopause ones ) was actually walking in the evenings. Just a mile or two

It was a tip shared by a neighbour who was on Tamoxifen, she noticed her flushes and sweats were much induced when she started to walk in the evenings to help with her fatigue. So every night, after dinner, off we went, about an hour most nights and we both saw a vast improvement. We still walk now, maybe 4 nights a week if the weather is ok -ish. We walk longer and further in the summer

Thanks everyone. @suki1964 I think the exercise does make a difference, I had loads of work to do yesterday so didn't manage nearly enough steps, hence having such a bad night last night.
