Soft toy storage

Help! We have so many soft toys and I currently have them in a plastic storage box but I hate the thing.

What do you use to store soft toys?

DS had an ottoman style bed that lifted up and the whole base was for storage. It was fab for soft toys

The bin!

I’m only joking, but seriously, could some of them go to charity?

itsgettingweird · 07/04/2024 19:50

When ds was younger we use a character pop up laundry basket!

They are only a few quid in places like Poundland and B and M

I got an empty bean bag cover. Holds loads of teddies and the added bonus of them being able to sit on it too!

I came to say the charity shop! Maybe I’m mean but I just can’t deal with too much stuff, and I swear my kids are more pleasant when they have fewer toys.

I want to but I feel bad to just get rid of them and they both do play with them. But there's so many I do think they need whittled down.

Yes we need a full toy clear out. I started to put toys away and put others in boxes with the idea to rotate them...but those boxes just end up being opened and all the toys dragged out again and again.

The only way to solve it is the get rid. It's a thought to do it though!

Several elastic cords, stretched vertically in a cupboard, like prison bars.
You can just shove them all in, in a pile and you can get the one you want without them all falling out.

Net hammock(s) attached at three points to the walls in a corner of a room.

Arrestedmanevolence · 07/04/2024 21:45

We have a beanbag style bag which you stuff with the toys, from Amazon.

I also often go and do a sweep and put a whole black bag in the attic. If they don't ask about them for 6-12 months then it goes to charity.

Where could I buy one of these?

PenguinWaiting · 07/04/2024 21:53

@annahay if you search for 'soft toy hammock' on Amazon, they seem to have various options. It was actually something I had as a kid so I haven't bought one recently myself!

Mumaway · 07/04/2024 21:55

Our friends have a pop-up net tube thing (a bit like a cat tunnel) which has hand holes along to stuff them in. I want one

buswankerz · 07/04/2024 21:56

I bought ds and dd hammocks from shein for their soft toys.

Anything that didn't fit in it once the keepers were picked went to the charity shop.

Slinkyminky22 · 07/04/2024 21:58

Try to clear some out, then KLAPPA (I think) £3 from ikea might be what you need. Black and white storage bag. Zips shut and has some ventilation holes.

buswankerz · 07/04/2024 21:58

@annahay shein, I paid £6 for 2 of them.

RandomMess · 07/04/2024 21:59

Hammocks here too and a strict one in one out policy!

pinkbananas7 · 07/04/2024 22:02

www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/klunka-laundry-bag-white-black-50364371/ we use this, does the job well. It is starting to overfill mind but DS plays with them all and loves them so can't bring myself to get rid of any.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. :)
