Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my cuppa, in my kitchen spot, before I head up for a shower and to get ready for my friend's little girl's christening. The window's open for some fresh air & the only noise is the fridge humming away to itself. Lovely 😊

There are loads of pots to wash & downstairs could do with a quick tidy round once I'm showered. Other than that, I don't think I'll be doing much housework today. I need to write in my card too but not a clue what to write 🤷‍♀️

Dd1 will likely carry on her Lucifer marathon, and I think dd2 will carry on with 911. They're both racing through them 🤣

Later on, it's bangers and mash for tea 😋 Then I'll carry on Lucifer at my own pace, order a cat tree for the kittens, and try for a better night's sleep 🙄

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning all. Have had a bit of a lie in today till 8:30 (I'm normally an early bird) so got some much needed rest.

Have got a wash on and about to head out for a run along the river. Might pick up a bacon sarnie afterwards then come home to some light chores like changing the sheets. Need to sit down and get a whole load of internet orders done and do some work, but maybe that can be done in the pub?!

Peridot1 · 07/04/2024 10:20

Best of luck @scaredysquiggle. Hope all goes ok.

I should have gone to the gym but didn’t. I put some washing on earlier and am about to hang that up and empty the dishwasher and then have a shower etc. We are going to some friends for lunch today so I also need to nip out and buy some flowers to take.

Then planning toasted sandwiches for dinner as having lunch out if we need food.

Woke up in a pub hotel room and had a mediocre breakfast then was told I had to leave at 10. I'm now sitting in my car wondering whether to get a coffee or bail on lunch with my friend and drive three hours home.

On the positive, it's her 60th birthday, we had a lovely party last night and I'm child free for the moment!

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone, I am sitting down for five minutes before I go out in the garden and do more weeding. There are three red kites wheeling around above the house, wonderful to see.
So far I have made a shepherds pie from scratch and done the vegetables for dinner, tidied the kitchen and watered the seedlings in the greenhouse.
I have had a browse for a new garden shed and a summerhouse- the greenhouse goes next weekend - I think I have found one I like! All very exciting and I’m looking forward to buying bits and pieces to go in the summerhouse- my den 😄
Nothing else planned, DH is out with the dog. I haven’t had a coffee yet so that’s next and I will take it outside with me.

Good morning,

Dh and Ds have popped to the shops for bacon and bread for some bacon sandwiches.

2nd load of washing done and happily blowing in the wind, I am hoping it will give it a good air and then will pop in the dryer to finish it off.

It’s garden day today! Once we have had our sandwiches it will be out with the trimmer and lawn mower and rake to rake up the leaves.

I also have to air the kids school uniform as they go back tomorrow, it’s all be washed and I stupidly left it.

My delightful children will also be asked to spend some time outside with us 😂

@lucysmam We started 911 a few weeks ago, I find its one of those shows thats awful, yet good at the same time.

@scaredysquiggle I hope you’re safe.

My husband took our two swimming this morning, our son is trying really hard to get his 100m badge as once he gets there he is allowed to ditch his lessons and go and have fun swims instead. So they’re also happily full of chips too, you can’t go swimming without having chips afterwards.

My rugby club are holding a family day today, so we’re going to that later, like the UK its warmer than usual here, but without the wind! So that should be pretty good as it means all the outdoor activities can go ahead.

Dropped DS and DH off at church; came back via Tesco to get stuff for Sunday dinner. Was hoping DD might be awake but she got back late last night from her volunteering trip abroad and was still asleep so I left her.
Sorted dinner for everyone then back to my Mum's house to carry on with the clearing - but I actually found a copy of 'Mary Poppins comes back' so sat and read a bit of that.
Got back home to find that a tree has blown over at th entrance of the street - it's not blocking the road yet but it won't take much!

Evening @lucysmam and all.
Very late to the thread it's practically next week!
I volunteered at the London landmarks half marathon today.
Met son for a quick bite to eat at the pub and now relaxing/snoozing and watching Ripley.
Hope everyone had a good day.

LaPalmaLlama · 07/04/2024 18:21

Ended up not running as DD wanted to earn some money so I set her up with some garden work and then ended up thinking "I'll just do x" and was out there for 4 hours doing battle with the bamboo and pine needles. It's been a lovely day here despite the wind so made the most of everything actually being dry!!

Crunchymum · 07/04/2024 18:33

Missed this earlier.

Hope everyone had a lovely Sunday?

I let the older (11 and 9) have an hour at the local park by themselves. It's just across one small road and it's not a particularly exciting park but they lasted the whole hour.

Home for lunch and then all three were off out with daddy to the RAF museum.

Meatballs, pasta, salad and garlic bread for dinner and a film is going on soon.

Chelsea26 · 07/04/2024 19:05

Evening all

We had a fun day yesterday. I’d popped to Waitrose on Friday and picked up the magazine. The ‘cover star’ was a cheese and pesto stuffed hedgehog bread and when I got in I said to DSD that we should make it (she loves both cheese and pesto!) and she said “tomorrow?”

Somehow this turned into making pasta from scratch for the first time ever and inventing a delicious creamy paprika chicken sauce for it as well as the hedgehog bread! We were cooking for hours! 😂

Hedgehog Bread was banging though!

We’re also in the process of checking that our chick flick education is continued so I made her watch “She’s All That” and she made me watch “Pitch Perfect”.

DS2 helped us cook and DS1 and DSS played on the Wii popping in every so often to take the Mickey out of our films - the cheek!

The kids all went back to the other parents this morning so I had a lazy day planned that somehow got turned into a trip to Wickes and helping DP start to build the decking outside the garden room he’s built.

To be fair, he’s still going and I am drinking wine and watching football in said garden room.

Fake Nando’s for dinner and probably some more of The Gentleman

Happy Sunday all
