Anyone have/know about c-section scar endometriosis?

I have recently been diagnosed with this. A golfball-sized lump on my c section scar that flares up during my period every month. Causes me a lot of pain. I’m waiting for an appointment to have it removed.

Despite diagnosis I know very little. I read on google it’s quite rare. They don’t seem to know how bad it is, can’t tell until they get in there. The operation - anyone know what to expect?

Hello! Yes I had one. They called it an endmetrioma. It was so painful. When I had another c section 5 years later I mentioned it to the surgeon and she said she would see what she could do. I have sensitivity there now but don't have the lump or pain anymore. Before that nobody was interested in doing anything about it.

Hello. Thank you 😊 it’s great to hear from someone who has been through this. Does it still give you pain?

I had my last c section 7 years ago. My first section (10 years ago) was an utter fiasco from start to finish and I’m convinced it’s from that. It was a nightmare to get a diagnosis. The pain and fatigue is something else. Also it makes me look really swollen and pregnant at its worst. I’m really hoping that the surgery helps but I’m terrified too.

I haven't had the same but I had a suspected eptopic pregnancy and had to have a laproscopy, which I suspect will be the same operation. I was put under (count back from 5 etc) then woke to two small incisions under plasters on my abdomen. One was at the base of my tummy button (tiny and looks like a 1cm silver stretch mark, barely visible) and the second is lower to the side, a couple of inches in front of the hip. The scar there is tiny and round, a bit like a cigarette burn. I went home the next morning (op was afternoon) and it healed without any issues and a lot faster than the c-section! I don't think I even took the codeine. It sounds scary but I have to say I was expecting worse and was pleasantly surprised. No issues since.

Thank you. This is really reassuring. Yes I’m hoping it’ll be laparoscopic but they can’t seem to give me any assurances on that. It’s more “we’ll know more when we get in there” sort of thing.

Yes, that's what they kept saying to me. Lots of scans, external and internal, but they couldn't see the problem until they were in. The idea of not knowing is a bit worrying but the procedure itself is very easy to recover from. Good luck with it all!

It doesn't give me pain anymore. I can feel it's a little more sensitive there along the scar but it doesn't get lumpy and painful like it used to.
