How do you feel about leaving your phone at home

I leave it at home when I go to work in a high security area and I realise that these journeys are totally different to others. I have no bus app to see when the bus is coming, I just sit and wait. I have no phone games or messages to answer, I am out of touch with the news for hours at a time.

These days are a lot more peaceful, I sort of like it. Sometimes I am bored and twitchy. But mostly it is fine

I couldn't be without it and I'm quite old! I can still read a paperback on the train though, the two aren't mutually exclusive. I'd go back for it if I ever forgot it, the idea of not looking at it for a day or two is unfathomable to me.

I hate not having mine on me. I don't have a watch so it's the only way I know what time it is. My old phone battery suddenly died without warning recently and I had to rush home because I wouldn't know when to do the school run otherwise. I also get irritable when having to wait (for a bus or appointment etc) and I have nothing to look at. I have to spend a few hours every week at a stay and play without it as phones are banned, and actually I don't mind that as it forces me to focus on my DD. But I hate not being able to take photos of her while she plays.

I also hate not having mine. I'm happy enough not to fiddle with it, but I need to know that family can get hold of me in an emergency. It stems from my Dad being very ill several times as a teen and young adult, so I felt like I had to have my phone just in case I missed a "you'd better get here quickly" phone call.

I also hate DH to be without his, as I need to know I can hold of him and vice versa.
