Would you move areas just because you're a bit bored?

Live in a lovely (rented) apartment in a posh area of London. Tenancy is up soon. Like this area but it's a bit too staid.

London has so many areas and seems a shame not to try different ones out. It'll obviously be a complete ball ache to move all the furniture and that. But hey, you only get to live once and at some point I will decide it's time to settle down and buy and then I'm a lot more stuck.

Yes! Especially if you are renting. North or South?

Of course, if you can find somewhere - that's the joy of renting, you are free to go wherever you please.

If you want interesting then maybe consider Dalston, Walthamstow, Deptford, Camberwell.

Do you mean you will have to leave or just this fixed term is ending? Rent might increase if you move, they keep them lower for good long term tenants.

Yes if you are renting and not tied to an area by kids schools etc. Definitely try out other areas.

Do you like the property you're in now? Can you stay there?
You can always go to other areas; you don't have to go through the agony of moving to one. Sometimes it's the devil you know - when you fetch up at a new place you don't know the neighbours, the property infrastructure, the shops, the landlord, etc. I think there's an argument for only moving when it's time to buy.
