Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in silence, in my kitchen spot. I'd be outside but haven't got round to getting out my table and chairs yet 🙄 & think they'll need a clean before being used. I have the window open for some fresh air & can hear the birds 😊.

There's some washing to be done always bloody washing and last night's pots that I'll get to eventually. The kitchen could do with a clean and mop too but not urgently so that can wait as well.

We're going for a wander to Pets at Home shortly, to look for things for the kittens, when they're old enough to leave mum. I've been collecting bits and pieces for the past couple of weeks. I have a couple of Vinted parcels to post on the way out.

We'll probably call into the big Home Bargains on the same estate, then walk over to B&M and The Range as well. Possibly via McDonald's for dinner.

When we get in, it'll be something quick for tea, showers and then settle down in front of Lucifer for a bit, with my crochet. I'd pick up my book but miss things 🙄. Dd1 is also bingeing Lucifer but is well ahead of me, and dd2 is re-watching 911, so probably lots of screens this evening.

I'll not be going to bed too late as I'm at a christening tomorrow so want plenty of time to have a flap about my outfit 🙈 and write a nice message in my card.

What about all of you? 🙂

Making ds bacon rolls at the moment, dh is just off out to go and replace some taps at his mums. When he gets back we are going for a walk and then lunch. Dd2 is due back soon after staying at her boyfriends last night and she’s going to work at midday so it’ll just be the 3 of us as per usual these days. Feels very weird to go from a family of 5 to essentially days out without 2 of them all the time! Certainly much cheaper anyway 😂

lucysmam · 06/04/2024 10:11

@Pascha I vote half an hour to yourself!

Morning @lucysmam!

Up far too early to drop DD at stable club. Home via the butchers for a gammon joint and some GF sausage meat to make sausage rolls. Had to remove stupid Maine coon from the slow cooker to be able to put the gammon in, she's not very bright!

Washing is on, menagerie are all sorted and fed. Am curled up (on the floor) with my most volatile Savannah who won't let anyone near her other than me. We'll have cuddles until she decides she's bored!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

DJSteves · 06/04/2024 10:14

We've just relocated to a major city in the Middle East. Our boxes from the old place arrive today and I can't wait to find homes for everything in my new place.

lucysmam · 06/04/2024 10:15

@Justonedayatatime11 does a Maine Coon fit in a slow cooker? 🤣

Morning
Weather as expected is not as expected, IE really warm and sunny in London
Undecided other than have breakfast , a full fry-up, then shower, then out to do odds and ends shopping as we have ours delivered, possibly a bite to eat but most likely being back read made sandwiches/cakes, then visit one of our kids for an hour that lives 3 mins away and watch tv - was going to cut the grass but will do tomorrow

Enjoy your day, weekend/hols

Good morning everyone. I’ve woken up feeling awful this morning - sore throat, headache, ear ache and a bit of a temp. Lucky me.

Dh and dd19 are both up and out at work, dd9 is sitting next to me eating her breakfast as she’s not been up long and I think I just heard movement from dd16 upstairs too.

So far this morning I’ve done a load of washing (have 2 more to go), cleaned out the fridges, put the Tesco delivery away and emptied the bins. My body now aches though so I’m back on the sofa with a cup of tea. I’ll go up for a shower soon and hopefully that will help me to feel a bit better.

I need to nip to Iceland and B&M for a few bits later and I’m hoping dd9 goes out to play with her friends after that as I don’t have the energy to entertain her.

Tea tonight is sausage and mash then I’ll either put something on the tv or read my book (if my headache buggers off) then go to bed early as I didn’t sleep well last night. I’m just glad I cleaned downstairs yesterday as I got an early dart from work. It desperately needed doing and i wouldn’t have felt up to doing it today!

Justonedayatatime11 · 06/04/2024 10:23

@lucysmam a baby one does!

bingoringo4 · 06/04/2024 10:35

Good morning, I'm still in bed atm but need to get up and let the dogs out. Todays lovely and the temp is going to be 20 🙌🏼 going on a big walk with the kids and dogs and then it's a night in with snacks in front of the tv.

stars345 · 06/04/2024 10:52

Have only just got up, it was DH's turn to get up today, he can have a lie in tomorrow. DC currently building Lego and asking 1000 questions 🤣

Not sure what the plan is for today, swimming has been mentioned. If not a walk and some park time would be on the agenda.

DH likes making fakeaways on Saturday, he's got some good mince in to make us smash burgers. Will enjoy that with some wine and a movie when the kids are in bed. Then will start my new book, The Fourth Wing. Hope it's good!

Simonjt · 06/04/2024 11:08

Good morning all.

We’ve been to a little farm park this morning and had a picnic brunch. They had some new little lambs which were very cute.

We’re heading off to the ferry in a bit to go to Vaxholm to look around the castle and fortress and we might possibly stay for dinner, it depends, if its a bit pricey we’ll eat when we get back.

I’ve got some bundles of old kids clothes I need to take the clothing bank on the way, I meant to do it in the week but my memory has been awful.

Have a lovely Sunday all

FlorencenotRatchet · 06/04/2024 11:10

Morning @lucysmam and all.
Volunteered at Parkrun this morning then met my mum for coffee.
Off to meet a friend this afternoon for lunch and a walk. Will be good to catch up as not seen her for a while.
Hoping the weather stays nice, it's quite windy!
Tonight will probably be a lazy evening- might start watching Ripley.
Have a great Saturday everyone.

CosmosQueen · 06/04/2024 11:26

Good morning @lucysmam and all, it’s clouding over here but it was 16° at 7.30 this morning, cooler now.
So far I have done the ironing, forked over the border under the front window and hoicked out loads of wild arum, cut down a climbing rose that has unexpectedly died and chatted over the fence with my neighbour.
The adjoining neighbour has been hammering since 9, it’s starting to get on my wick now 🤬, goodness knows what he’s doing in there.
I’m just waiting for the washing machine to stop then I will hang the towels out. DH has taken the dog off for a long walk so they’ll both be asleep all afternoon.
I did an hour of Dala drawing earlier so I will carry on with that after lunch.
Have a great weekend everyone and I hope the poorly ones feel better very quickly 🤞🏻

@Pascha I vote half an hour to yourself!

Unfortunately they got wind of a coffee shop trip so Costa it is before we tackle the awfulness of Tesco on Saturday lunchtime
I really wish I'd booked a delivery for today now.

RabbitsRock · 06/04/2024 11:49

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Up at 7am although could have done with a bit longer as we had a very disturbed sleep the previous night. Have loaded/unloaded the dishwasher & there’s another lot of dishes to go in. Just put on a load of washing. I haven’t had breakfast, only 2 cuppas. Planning an early lunch of tuna & coleslaw sandwiches. Need to do an Asda shop when DH gets home & will pop into town as I have to go to Boots. Not much else planned. Easy tea of pasta, pesto & peas.

piscofrisco · 06/04/2024 12:15

Morning all... I've been at work on call since 7, and my plan for afterwards at 2pm was to go home and lie on the sun lounger in the alleged 22 degree sunshine we were getting. It's currently grey and windy so not sure that's happening .

Dh has been poorly all week, dd1 is at work, dd2 in on her period and therefore won't talk to anyone or leave her room for the next two days probs, DSS's with their mum-so nothing much doing for me tonight. I'm exhausted as work has been manic and I haven't been sleeping well so I'm actually looking forward to doing not much and an early night.

Have a lovely day all

PermanentTemporary · 06/04/2024 12:19

Some great mornings! Loving the sound of the Abba show and the unpacking in a new home.

I had a disturbed night but then most unusually got back to sleep. Ds has gone to meet his girlfriend and they'll be back later. Dp and I are off to the football.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 06/04/2024 12:20

@Lucysmam a lovely breakfast of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup was had and a nearly three hours blether. All is right with my world. Now to tackle cleaning the house.

Shit, so I don’t get to dump the kids at school or nursery tomorrow, ffs 🤣

Peridot1 · 06/04/2024 13:00

Well instead of my normal lazy morning of copious cups of tea and pottering at home we actually went out for breakfast at a local garden centre and then bought some plants. A few bargains too. And quite a few plug plants that I will need to pot on.

So some gardening this afternoon I think.

Gammon steaks, chips and beans for dinner.

Crunchymum · 06/04/2024 13:12

Just home for lunch / pit stop.

Not quite the heatwave we were expecting but it's not wet so we've been swimming / library and to the local park this morning.

After lunch we're going to head over to the bigger park. One that actually caters for all the kids (even the oldest will have stuff to do there)

Am meeting my sister and niece there too so the kids can run wild and we can have a coffee and a catch up.

Have promised kids KFC for dinner. Adults are having homemade curry.

whyyy321 · 06/04/2024 13:20

Nice thread!

I had some vouchers to use for a massage so snuck off for a 9am shoulders & neck massage- much needed after starting a new job this week. Met husband and kid after for a play in the park and a coffee at the kid-friendly cafe next to it. Kid is very "mummy" at the moment so mostly had to follow him around looking at the toys he needed to show me desperately.

He's napping now, I've had some lunch and husband went off to gym. Tea and cake later for husbands aunt's birthday with some of wider family too.

None of the 20 degrees sunshine up here in Scotland, though.

Love hearing about the calm mornings with lay ins and hot coffee which may await me in a few years!

Whattheduck · 06/04/2024 13:54

Dh is working away
Dd has gone away with her boyfriend to my mums caravan in Norfolk
So just myself and the dog at home
Went to Sainsburys to get a few bits came home had coffee and a croissant then put some washing in which is now blowing in the wind
Just colored my hair had a shower and put my pyjamas back on now watching This Town with the dog snoring next to me
Need to make the beds as washed the bedding
Going to pick my Dd up tomorrow and take the dog so she can have a run on the beach we’ll have lunch somewhere then drive home
