How important is it to get kids good quality shoes?

I've always been told that it's worth spending ££ on good quality properly fitted shoes for children. DD4 has ricosta around £50 but they're her only pair she wears day to day. They have never fallen apart or worn out before she outgrown them. And she WEARS them.

But should I just get her some £10-20 ones from a supermarket?

Will it harm her feet/gait???

DD lived in Ricosta, Ecco or Geox until she was at 6th form.

She has, like me, feet which don't work well with any hard form so these brands are the only ones she managed without having blisters.

We had an independent children shoe shop locally and it was always packed and they fitted very well.

She had trainers from Deichmann and some party shoes as well but everything else, sandals and winter boots, were always these three brands.

my mom put good shoes on me as a child and at 67 i have no problems with my feet no bunions etc , i put my children into jumping jacks which at the time were pricey and then good quality shoes and my children all have good feet so yes it is worth spending the extra as feet last a lifetime and problem free feet are better than uncomfortable feet

I could have written this word for word!

We're lucky enough to have an (imo) excellent independent shop shop here in the town next to our village, so use them... they have always been amazing and often have turned us away after a fitting as DDs shoes still fitted and she didn't need new ones. Yeah, probably could get them online cheaper, but, they provide a service and I've never felt pressured. One time they tried around 8 pairs of shoes on DD and apologised because none of them fitted her properly, so suggested a couple of alternatives that we could buy and they would fit them or they'd order some in.

Feet are so important

Clarks shoes are expensive and badly made. My son has been through several pairs that have peeled away from the sole. His latest pair are being held together by gorilla glue. I'm buying geox from now on.
