We need a new word for "adult child"

For no real reason it annoys me that there is no decent alternative to "adult child/children" for sons and daughters aged over 18.

Words like offspring and progeny always sound like mild piss-takes in every day use. But adult child is a literal oxymoron!

I think my vote is for a new portmanteau word : adulren. Or adren? Or shall I just get a life? 🤔 😁

Annoying.

There is already a word for people between about 16 and 25: adolescents.

I do, however, take great pleasure in introducing my 6'3" youngest child as "my baby". (He indulges me 😄)
