Hi,

I currently drive a VW Caravelle (7 seater) but need to sell this due to reliability issues.

This is my ideal vehicle but its replacement probably doesn’t need to be as big as it is my day to day car also and often only has myself as sole occupant.

I need a vehicle to comfortably seat 5 adults as my kids are all tall, long legged teens. And probs 2 extras just incase.

We enjoy active holidays so need tons of boot space for tents/paddle boards etc.

I am used to an automatic although also drive manual.

The van is diesel although the majority of my driving is short local journeys bar maybe 10 long journeys a year so maybe petrol would be better this time?

I don’t like cars that look like the C Max or Picasso.

I need leather seats.

Budget £15-20K. The newer and the lower mileage the better.

Please help me!!

Gosh I could have written this post, I have been looking for a couple of years for a replacement, had a T4 for 10 years never skipped a beat but was old and ratty, 3 6' teens one 6'6 and I don't want to sit in the back...we looked at touran, roof too low on back not enough shoulder space, maybe land rover types but not known for the reliability, all skodas too tight we also have a dog . Biggest problem is kids very used to armchair style seats and tons of space so we ended up with a T5. Luckily it's been reliable but really I want T6 just out of our league price wise. The id buzz sounds ideal if only you didn't need a mortgage to buy one! My friend also big family has a touneo ford. She is very happy with it.

Thanks all. Sadly anything feels like a downgrade from the Caravelle but after 2 European breakdowns in 2 years and burning money on it we have to call it a day. I’m SO used to chucking EVERYTHING and everyone in it so really struggling with the move to a car… 😢

We have a Peugeot 5008. 3 proper seats in the back and no ridge in the middle. Huge boot.

We have the LWB caddy and love it, on our second one. It does everything even it's not exactly sexy - quite narrow body so easy to park even with the length. Unfortunately the new models seem to all be SWB, which isn't that useful as it only comes with one row of back seats. If you shop around used, there are still 7 seaters available but prices are a bit wild. We're probably going to end up with the Multivan as our next car/van.
