New wardrobe organising business

(name changed as I haven't discussed this with any friends IRL)... I'm totally obsessed with tidying and organising cupboards and wardrobes in my home. Several people have suggested I do this as a business, and a local interior designer told me she has a huge number of requests for this. I've started an instagram page, and I just don't really know how to actually start, and to get my first client.

I'm happy to do a few pro bono jobs, and am just putting myself out there for any ideas any of you might have.

I'm pretty hopeful that once I get started, word of mouth will help, but it is just that initial start.

Ideas welcome (as well as anybody in South Herts who may have a wardrobe or kitchen cupboards they would like tidied and organised at no charge) 🙂

I would love to do this myself OP. I find it so therapeutic and have spent the last few weekends doing it in my house and I’ve had the same thoughts. Could you do the service for a couple of friends to get started and with their permission share on your social media before and after shots. Also what tips do you have for space saving ideas in the wardrobe that you could do specific reels about? If you have interior design contacts who say they have people out there who want the service I’d really pursue that. With these types of service it can be very much about word of mouth. Good luck!

@Myfirstcarwasamini thank you for replying :)

I'm hoping to be able to launch it without asking friends let me do it for them. I feel like that could involve too many emotions or trying to pin them down, vs a stranger, who genuinely wants this done. I might be wrong... also, I've had a few other things that I've talked about starting and never done it, so I don't want to feel like they are thinking 'here we go again...'. That may well sound silly, and it may be I do go to them in the end.. but just trying first to be a big brave girl :)

I understand. It’s hard putting yourself out there. Could you make a business Facebook profile and post it on there on specific services available boards? Do you have a name for your biz yet? Probably best to get what you want your brand to be and then it may give you the confidence to advertise. Do you have any local publications you could advertise in? These tend to be quite homespun booklets and are really useful contacts for local tradespeople to get their name out into the community. How about leafleting? I started an ironing service a few years back this way as a single parent.

Do you have a local Facebook group where you can advertise?

I'm just setting up the Facebook page - I'm changing an old page I had and need to wait for the name change to be approved. I'm very nervous of posting, I'm not quite sure why - I'm more nervous of people saying what a silly idea, than of no responses at all..

Also, I don't know how to get some 'likes' for the Facebook page, so whilst there are no likes, is it worth using it yet? Would you use a company without any likes?
