Has your child ever been on a Cbeebies show?

Their site just says:

Most children taking part in CBeebies programmes are found by means of casting sessions run by our production teams to find children to take part in a particular show.

And I’m wondering if it’s just certain schools (near their studios) they use?

Seems as if no one’s child has been on 😆

My child's special school ( primary was featured on something special )
We had to sign a disclaimer to allow our children to be shown, but I dont think my son ever appeared on it .

I know children who have been on them. In these cases the people making the programmes asked local schools if they knew any families who would be up for it.

Thanks, I imagine SS does require a lot of careful prep. Such a lovely show.

Friend of mine lives in Chorlton, Manchester, says her kids' schools has been approached a few times by CBBC casting for shows and her son was chosen to be one from that. I'm guessing they just approach the nearest schools to Salford Quays.

My dds class where in the audience of swashbucklers a few years ago, is that cbbc/cbeebies?

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/04/2024 22:55

My nephew was a cbbc show last year. Not sure how it came to be though.

TakeOnFlea · 02/04/2024 23:03

Ours auditioned. They came to our house but my eldest got all silly and they didn't get on 😂

LeonoraFlorence · 02/04/2024 23:15

DD1 was on an episode of ‘I Can Cook’ with Katy. We still sing the washing up song, the girls still enjoy watching old episodes!

Twolittleloves · 02/04/2024 23:54

Those of you who have said your children/those you know have been on the shows...how did it actually happen??

ChaoticBag · 02/04/2024 23:59

Many years ago my DDs were in an episode of Boogie Beebies - anyone remember that?

It happened through their dance class and was very fun!

PenelopeRidesAgain · 03/04/2024 00:05

My daughter was. Local production company came to school and did 'fun' auditions and chose about 6 or 7 of them. They went to London a few months later and really enjoyed the experience. A few of them were then asked to go back to make another show for the same company. Just chance that the people making the decisions and looking for participants lived locally and contacted schools in the area.

SpaghettiWithaYeti · 03/04/2024 00:09

My son was, I was contacted by a researcher specifically, it was part of a series of shows about different medical conditions. He really enjoyed getting to be part of it.

Yes. In Manchester via school. Justin's House.

There's a clip of DS in the audience, a close of of him doing a little dance in his seat.

I must try and find that episode. He's almost 18 now!

Ormally · 03/04/2024 00:15

Yes, via a group that is connected to an outdoor and environmental charity.
There have been 3 opportunities for age groups both younger and older in about 5 years - 2 that led to a remote interview.

Jemimapuddlesduck · 03/04/2024 00:29

Yes my daughter did a couple of episodes of Mr Bloom’s Nursery-Get Set Grow. They came to her school (we are nowhere near London) and did some informal auditions, I think they went to several schools in the area. They picked 3 children in total, she did some filming in our local area and we also travelled to Manchester to film in the studio. The travel and hotel was paid for by the bbc. It was a wonderful experience, she’s 18 now so it was quite a long time ago.

My son did appear on a virgin media Xmas school pantomime show
Virgin media did a Xmas competition for primary school, s Xmas shows and my sons special school was a runner up so they showed the whole pantomime of the school that won and a song my sons school preformed as the runner up
It was really nice had me in tears 😍

Yes, my daughter was 7 and I applied through the CBBC website 'Be on a show' link nearly twenty years ago.

She was invited to a group casting and was invited onto a kids gameshow being filmed in a large site in southern England.

We were flown down to Heathrow, collected and put up in a nearby hotel. There were eight kids in total who were taken away for a 12hr filming day. They were well looked after but very tired by the end. The parents were bussed out to watch the last hour of filming.
