Help! It's my mum's funeral today and last night I couldn't find my moisturiser so used a boots cream my husband has been using. Ive woken up to my face and neck burning! Ive taken an antihistamine and washed. Is there anything else I can do so that I don't look like I've been hammering the sun beds??!!

That would a Boots' cream, from Boots, not for his size 9s...

No not much. I’m so sorry. Wash it off gently. Cold compress to take the heat out. I’m so sorry at such a difficult time. Cold compress and just waiting I’m afraid.

I have steriods and an Epipen but I don’t think either would help here.

I think an antihistamine cream on the skin would help as well, if you have time to get one.
I think a second antihistamine would be ok, if you know they won’t knock you out.

make sure you’ve cleansed to remove the moisturiser - a cream cleanser will be gentler. make sure it’s one you’ve used before for obvious reasons!

It should fade pretty fast, even if it’s hot and red now.

Could stress/anxiety be contributing to it? I get hives with severe stress.

I’m so sorry.

Take more antihistamine and like @Thefutureisourownpath says use a cold compress. Have you got any frozen peas or anything?

I'm sorry about your mum. Flowers

Make chamomile tea, ice it. Use the icy cold teabags as a compress. It will help reduce the redness and swelling.

Piriton is a fast acting antihistamine. Fexofenadine is a longer acting one. You can take both. Fexo is available over the counter as allevia.

Not what you need at all, you poor thing. Hope today goes OK.

Add a few drops of lavender essential oil in a cream that you usually use (try to avoid your eyes as it can make them water). High dose of vitamin C which is an antihistamine.

Thanks all. I've cleansed and also taken ibuprofen. It does seem to be settling down a bit. Thanks for your well wishes
