I also don’t sit on the sofa at night but I love being able to sit in the afternoon with my heated throw over me if 8m watching a film.
I haven’t used my electric blanket for a long time as we have a memory foam mattress topper & the throw can be easily taken upstairs if I’m cold in bed.

I also have both I’ve switched my electric blanket on so it’s nice and warm when I get in bed it’s switched off overnight. My throw I use when I’m sat on the sofa watching tv. I love them both and would replace them instantly if they stopped working. My children also love theirs too. Both are cheap to use yes the outlay for them is quite high but they really are lovely and cosy. Both of mine are the dreamland brand the electric blanket I have on my bed is dual control so we can decide on an individual temperature dh rarely puts his on. Our throws are the Sherpa ones I used to own the cheaper one which broke quickly. I purchased from Lakeland who give a three year grantees.

Before there were electric underblankets, you had electric (over) blankets. They were just as good as underblankets at warning the bed and keeping you warm - possibly better. Their drawback was that they mustn't be folded, crumpled or crushed while in use. So if you were the sort to wrap yourself in your blanket, tuck it in, or roll over on it, it was not safe and you could easily break it. If modern electric throws have that same limitation, then I would choose an electric underblanket. I suspect that machine washable electric throws are more robust.

Same. Also have my electric blanket on a smart Plug and alexa routine so I can tell alexa to turn it on half an hour before I go up to bed!

I have a throw and use it as a blanket in bed too. I imagine electric blankets are very stiff are they?

No they aren’t stiff at all mines soft quilted and fits perfectly on the bed I actually looks like a mattress protector. Not at all difficult to put on the bed.

Both here too, throw on the sofa and under blanket on the bed. Both are fabulous but go for wherever you spend most time. I have the underblanket set to go off after an hour as I'll be asleep by then, the throw I will have on for as long as I'm on the sofa.

I brought my sister both from dreamland uk. She loves them both and they reasonably priced.

I've got a Dreamland electric throw on the bed. I leave it on all night, and love it!
