Brighton Marathon parking

DD and her friend are running in this next Sunday and I'm going along to cheer her on

Do any locals know where best to park? I'm happy to use park and ride if that's best. Closest hotel o could get was Eastbourne so coming from that direction.

Thanks very much. She was a late entry through a charity so it's a bit last minute.

I took it as parking in Lewes itself is tricky, which can be true, as opposed to the train station. If you check it out on Google maps you can see it's a large car park. Plus just checked and it appears to only be £2.50 for a day's parking on Sundays.
Pinwell Rd, next to The Depot cinema and Mountfield Rd, are your two other good alternatives, both are free on Sundays. Good luck whatever you decide. 🙂

trainline saying an hour Eastbourne to Brighton on the rail replacement bus (but that’s only a short distance) then train from Polegate? It will take you that long to drive and park in Brighton. Or park in Lewes,‘you’ll be fine early on a Sunday morning.

We parked at Lewes and got the train as it's on a good route home.

Was a really well organised day and would recommend the train in to anyone who is in this dilemma next year. DD and her friend crossed the line together and are delighted with their medals.

Thanks all for the help on here.
