Home whitening trays, bottom of teeth still yellow?

I've been using teeth whitening trays from my dentist for just over two weeks, my teeth are definitely whiter but still yellow toward the bottom of my teeth. Is this common? Do I need a higher percentage? Or could it be an issue with my trays?

Hi ,what percentage are you using. My dentist usually gives me 6%. My teeth still stay a bit yellowish as that's their natural colour. The home whitening trays just get rid of any stains. I can really see a difference but they never go pure white. My dentist said if I wanted pure white teeth I'd need veneers. It might just be the natural colour of your teeth. Have you made sure there's plenty of gel on the yellowish bits. I know they try to keep the gel away from your gums to stop them getting sore from the gel.

It's normal. One reason could be if you have gum recession. The exposed roots of the teeth are naturally more yellow and they don't whiten like enamel does. Teeth often are darker towards the gum line anyway even without the roots being exposed. You could talk to the dentist about it but there may not be much they can do.

It is normal, I recently had mine done and the bottom teeth definitely take longer than the top teeth.

Currently whitening my teeth too! Mine are still more yellow towards the bottom, the dentist said this is because there is exposed dentine. Probably age related - I’m early 50’s.
Another annoying thing about getting older 😬

How long did the bottom take? The top teeth are definitely better, I saw a difference practically overnight with them.

I've got 10%, sort of wishing I'd had a higher percentage as maybe this just isn't strong enough. I'm not expecting veneers white but was hoping for shade B1 or very close. The dentist hadn't mentioned a possibility of parts of the teeth remaining yellow. Really hope it does budge!
