Are you making it?

Comfysock · 29/03/2024 23:48

Comfysock · 29/03/2024 23:50

Any allergies?

I keep on seeing recipes for mini egg brownies - how about a batch of those, warm for a few secs in the microwave and take some posh vanilla ice cream to have with it.

Or buy hollow easter eggs, ice cream, squirty cream and various toppings and make ice cream bowls with half an egg as the bowl. You can also do a no bake cheesecake in half an egg only if your friends are classy like me

Redshoeblueshoe · 29/03/2024 23:50

Lemon meringue pie

SiobhanSharpe · 29/03/2024 23:51

Shop bought pies can be a little on the small side.... not usually enough for seconds IME.
Buy two to be on the safe side? (Even two different flavours?)

Grimchmas · 29/03/2024 23:52

Cross posted that you don't want to bake.

An ice cream and chocolate egg affair is assembling not baking ;)

Dancingfairydreams · 29/03/2024 23:53

If likely to be a roast you may not want anything too heavy. Can't really go wrong with some nice berries & top quality ice cream.

(But the egg idea above does sound very yummy!)

As it's Easter Sunday go with something Easter themed. A no bake cheesecake is easy to make a decorate with mini eggs.

SabreIsMyFave · 29/03/2024 23:55

Hot cross buns and a couple of chocolate eggs of course. 😆

Cook always have great desserts, and well sized.

frenchfancy81 · 30/03/2024 00:04

A vanilla cheesecake topped with mini eggs and the little malteaser bunnies and a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla custard.

sansou · 30/03/2024 00:06

My go to shop bought dessert is Waitrose's No 1 Tarte Aux Fruits with a pot of their Malaysian Coconut & Lime Ice cream.

Ihateslugs · 30/03/2024 01:30

I would take something a bit lighter than a fruit pie in case the main course is very filling. I usually bake something so maybe a pavlova or mini lemon drizzle cakes. If I was buying a dessert, it might be a taste au citron or cheesecake.

Justlovedogs · 30/03/2024 03:24

As a child of the 80s, I'd suggest a Vienetta... 😂

PostalPanic · 30/03/2024 05:34

COOK is a great option for this if you have a local branch? Some of their puddings are pricey, others very reasonable for the number of portions.

I've fantasy shopped and selected Pear and Ginger Tart (£8.95, 6-8 portions) with a pot of cream from the supermarket. And/Or Gin and Tonic Semifreddo (£9.75, 6-8 portions). 😀

Lots of lovely chocolate puddings, but assuming Easter and you may have had enough!

Autienotnaughtie · 30/03/2024 06:32

I would do Eton mess (so easy) and decorate with mini eggs

confusedofengland · 30/03/2024 07:36

I would take a couple of options. Apple pie & custard/cream like you suggest, plus a chocolate Easter themed dessert like other posters suggest. With 1 or 2 tubs of ice cream. Better to over cater than under cater & can probably be frozen if not eaten (if fresh).

Comfysock · 30/03/2024 18:19

Gone with big bramley apple pie with demarea sugar so lovely crispy top and a berry cheesecake. Im happy with that
