I actually have what I think is a pretty niche hobby. Would anyone like to try and guess what it is? I'll answer questions (unless it is "what is your niche hobby?) and I will say what it is when everybody, including me, gets bored.

Do you write fan fiction?

@CurlewKate, you write fan-fiction, possibly slash, in a niche fandom. Possibly you’re a BNF.

(Potentially embarrassing, outing, pre-existed the internet but was harder to find and circulate in zines, you can use an electronic device, but not strictly necessary, there is a product of sorts at the end, and a kind of relationship to Mills and Boon…?)

No, I just read through the OP's posts on this thread this morning and, for some reason, fan fiction jumped into my head. I haven't looked up their previous posts.

No, I didn’t search. It was the Mills and Boon clue. Plus I wrote it myself a million years ago, when it all happened on LiveJournal.

In answer to your Q, I do have a few pieces of fan fic out there from many years ago, but all very much fill-ins in the style of the author, no slash. I'm incapable of writing sex scenes without cringing myself out of existence 😂

I was a mildly BNF in LOTR RPS a million years ago. Back in the LJ days when dinosaurs walked the earth. Are you going to say which fandom, @CurlewKate? I’ve dropped completely out of that world, and now it’s all on different platforms, old fandoms have died etc. I did once, during a bout of insomnia a few years back, discover there was House of Commons slash.
