Anyone got/had a resin bound patio in their garden?

Thinking about the options for a resin bound patio for the garden. Can you walk on it bare foot, is it smooth or will little stones work out and hurt your feet? How easy is it to sweep clean? Or would a patio be better for this. No idea about prices of patio vs the resin bound, but it seems better for shapes or larger areas to cover. Also looking at doing the front of the house for car parking also.

I love mine. It;s easy to keep clean and sweep, no weeds and is totally permeable. The patio was done over a few days as there was already a base down beforehand. The colour does fade a little over the years but still looks great. It's nice to walk on in bare feet too as it's smooth.

Oh thanks very much that’s really helpful! How did you find it cost wise compared to a patio?

Don't get one, mine has cracks and I know people have similar issues. Really annoyed as it was very expensive and we used a company with a good reputation.

Thanks @ThePoetsWife did they give you a reason for the cracks like poor sub base? Can you fix it? A few companies I’ve seen have guarantees but I’m guessing there’s a lot of exclusions

Weather / wear and tear Confused we were really careful about not allowing heavy vehicles on the driveway though.

It looks like the company were thorough with ensuring the layers underneath were strong and appropriate so we didn't get very far.

Not repairing it until just before we sell/move as it will keep happening.

From memory the patio cost £2500 back in 2020. Its approximately 30ft x 13ft.

As with anyhting, it will look good if looked after but most of all, how well its doen. Foundations are really important and some of those that do this kind of thing, you need to keep a close eye on their work to esnure the agreed spec is met
